For awhile I resisted texting. Then one day I decided to go with the flow since it is a form of communication which many prefer. I do not care for it at all. It may have a purpose when you just want to send a very quick and brief message that may be urgent or important. But unless the person you text gets back to you within a reasonable period of time, what's the point. I am not one to constantly be on the phone or check messages. My phone conversations are sometimes long ones with friends and I can't imagine texting for that.
I am open to a lot of things and I have many friends and family, we keep in touch. Texting works for those who like and use it, for me it is not something I need in my life. We do what works for us.

Based on this, it sounds like you gave him all the info he needed so although a 'great thanks' would've been nice, I think you're making more of this than it needs to be.
I don't consider people 'on call' even with texting.

@ThinkingOutLoud, yes, the text did not call for a response.

Do you type your texts like you do here on the forum? Maybe you explained in a previous post why you don't use normal sentence punctuation and structure like capitalizing at the beginning of a sentence and ending with a period instead of random periods througout your message and all lower case. I do have trouble following your messages on here, maybe it's the same in texts.

I was taught that proper etiquette is to atleast briefly respond an acknowledgement that I had received a message or question. I was taught this as I was growing up.
All the person needed to do is briefly respond " will get back to you soon" or yes I got your message .

@Luvsmyfam No. I don't text people because I don't spend all day tied to my phone and don't intend to. So I just don't respond because I don't want to get it started.
E-mail me, call me, or whatever, but don't text me.
