Don't have any quotes, but this is really a subject or a topic which I am constantly frustrated by.  You cannot buy common sense, nor can you learn it no matter how much higher education you have.  You either have it or you don't!  In my experience, some of the smartest and most well educated people seem to have absolutely no common sense whatsoever.  And this, is a very unfortunate combination.  It's as though, if it doesn't come out of a book, forget it!!!  I never claimed to be the most brilliant person around but I can say that I have been blessed with a lot of common sense.

@AngelPuppy1, I've seen many things that say just what you said.

My 8th grade teacher used to say, “There are a lot of dumb smart people out there.” She meant so many geniuses didn’t have any common sense.

I haven't read the other replies because I'm on my way out (the door).  ......... If I had a penny for each of the times that friends and I have long discussions re: common sense, I'd be a millionaire.   I'm looking forward to reading the other posts when I return.

@AngelPuppy1

I have had the same experiences with many highly educated men. It is something I never seem to understand the why! So smart about so many things in life, but seem to have very little when it comes to common sense. Spent a lot of time trying to explain this to a whole lot of these types of men and come away just shaking my head. 😮
