Re: Thought You Would Enjoy This View

@Sage04, we lived in Atlanta back in the early 90's and I drove that thing many a time. I was not overtly scared of bridges and overpasses but then one day I was ascending and Spaghetti Junction got me!  And thus it began. From that point on I've always had a tingling weird sensation when going over any higher bridges, overpasses, etc. 😩

Re: Thought You Would Enjoy This View

What a lovely view!!!!  I love the shore and the mountains, anywhere there is a combination of the two are for me.  I spent many summers at a family home in the mountains and loved it but divide my time between the ocean and the mountains now. Thanks for sharing such a pretty photo!!!

I am surrounded by mountains with heavy foliage like that here in WV.   Cannot see myself living anywhere else.

Re: Thought You Would Enjoy This View

@Sage04 No I do not like heights!  I hate really high steep bridges, although I drove the Chesapeke Bay bridge and tunnel and was fairly ok with that, but happey when it ended.

Bridges:  The old one to Cape Cod, the old I10 bridge into New Orleans and ones like those.  I nearly had a meltdown when we got stopped on top of the old Cooper River bridges coming back into Charleston during a bad thunderstorm.

I thought I was going to lose it.  There was a police car in front of us stopping traffic RIGHT at the top of the bridge and I kept thinking I'd get out and get in the police car and he'd take me off the bridge.  But I was too SKEERED!!!!!!  Woman Embarassed

@ECBG   Thank you for the picture!  You live in a beautiful area.

I love driving in those mountains in good weather.  Hubby says I make him car sick. . . being raised in hills and hollers it's fun to me.  He's a flatlander, which I'll never understand.

@Sooner

If you have ever driven to Chimney Rock, my drive was more steep.

@ECBG   Oh My.....Chimney Rock scared me for sure!   I'm a flatlander too.  While I love the mountains, I find them "treacherous" to drive in....in fact...I wouldn't. DH did all the driving!

@jubilant

DH is the area's main computer guy with his physics degree.  He has always done the Chimney's computers as well as all of the shops.

Back then, a young woman was going to get married on top of the rock.  Her grandmother was about to pass in California.

DH wired the entire rock so her grandmother could see the wedding in "real time"about 25 years ago.

@ECBG   God love that man.  That's amazing!
