Re: Things I wish I understood...

My DH takes care and knows how to fix things in the house and who to call if he can't. He also always handled the finances because that's his profession.

I wish I understood everything in his head because I always worry what I will do when I'm alone.

Re: Things I wish I understood...

I was raised to be independent and manage my own finances. And when something breaks, I'm the one who usually fixes it.

I could spend all day in a hardware store.

I do like to learn how to use a chainsaw, easy-to-make healthy meals on a fixed income, and more about different cultures, religions, countries (especially those people run from), the Civil War aftermath, what makes people tick, and such.

I never want to understand the thinking of people who have to put down someone to feel good, their cruelty toward those they consider less-than, greed, hatefulness, and thinking they're better than others.

I've always wondered why their are foreign languages? Like why didn't humans have a common language no matter the region they live in? Bizarre thought 🤣🤣🤣

I wish I understood why people are so cruel to one another. Sure, greed, discrimination, hatefulness, political influences, life experiences, mental illness, etc, can cause it. But I'm talking at the deep down gut level. I'd love a solution. It'll never happen because we're human but it'd be nice if people took a step back and thought about how they are/appear/sound to others.

Math being taught in elementary schools in Texas.  Adding and subtracting horizontally instead of in vertical columns like I was taught decades ago. I asked this question on the community chat forum.

Re: Things I wish I understood...

You need to learn just in case something happens to him. I have seen many patients who are lost at what to do after a husband or wife becomes incapacitated.

I guess that I am lucky in  a way, that I live alone, and have to do things on my own. I watch Youtube a lot to fix things.
