Same here in New England....45 mph wind. I hardly slept last night...the howling wind was relentless.

@LindaSal    No, but Paducah is a lovely town.  I'm in a small town in the southeastern part of the state called Corbin.  It's about an hour south of Lexington.

Youre cruise sounds like a lot of fun.  Most all of my drs and some family are in Nashville, so I get to travel there often.  I feel like it's my second home.

If you're ever in Ky again, there's a lovely small town just north of me called Berea.  It's a wonderful place filled with a thriving art community.  There are several local jewelry makers and crafters who do incredible work.😊💝

@cheriere Wow, that sounds beautiful! That's my kind of town for sure.

@Effie54    It is a great little town and such a peaceful community.  Everything is in walking distance too.  Plenty of antique shops and galleries.  There's also Berea College, which allows nearly all of its students to go tuition free as long as they do some type of small job for the school after classes.  I didn't attend there, but had friends who did.  Some worked a couple hours a day in the school library, while others helped a couple in the greenhouse.

@cheriere It sounds wonderful! I'm an antique lover, as well as loving small shops and galleries. I wish we had that here in CT. 💖

@catter70  I live in E. PA with the winds, & it's garbage day here too.

As soon as I heard the recycle truck, I ran outside to retrieve the container so it wouldn't end up rolling down the street with the others when it was empty today.

@catter70 and @Desert Lily - our garbage day was yesterday, too. When I got home from work, our trash and recycle bins were both across the street in our neighbors yard! Several others were also on the road. It was so bizarre yesterday that in addition to the wind, we had a period for about an hour in which it went from sleet to snow to hail and the sun back out again. Crazy weather!

Yesterday was garbage day for us also.  There was debris all over the place.  And garbage cans in the middle of the streets.

Central New Jersey, where I live, was also very windy with gusts of 40 to 50 mile gusts of wind!

@Starpolisher

I went to college in Central NJ. I remember how strong the wind was blowing across campus.

In SoCal, we have our own special winds called the Santa Anas, also known as the "devil winds."  They blow hot air from the desert to the beach, increase temperatures, and they can trigger migraines.
