Re: The Bee Hive -- Winter 2020 Edition

Anyone see Jupiter and Saturn last night?

We went for a drive with the dog to check out the conjunction and Christmas decorations in a couple neighborhoods.

We noticed a lot of cars were parked on the side of the road so more than a few people were aware of the 2020 conjunction.  Pretty decent viewing.

Had a deadline -- the new edition had to get out there. Woman LOL

Not sure everyone is aware it exists.  New season, new thread...

Yep, I managed to catch it.  I had been keeping an eye on where they were located and watched our local news who said to get out after sunset but before 7 pm when they would be below the horizon.  So that was about an hour and a half window.

I went out after six and had a good view.  But when I went back out about 6:45, they were already below my tree line, so my view was quite limited.  And I could only see it from one spot by my house by then.  But it looked brighter than my earlier view, so maybe it/they were closer to the earth at that point?

I can see how this phenomenon could be interpreted as a guiding star by three (or four?😂) weary travelers. 🌟💫

It seems like a lot of our 'regulars' have been MIA lately.  I'm hoping it's just because they're busy (or have been using that messed up mobile forum version), and not because of something more sinister.

After all, this is a normally extra busy time of year for most people.🤞🙏

I've got to get the dog out for a run (earlier she got into all the sweets I'd dumped in the woods!🤬) and I have to get down and open the gate.

I'll be back later...

Sweets in the woods?  Is this some new fertilizer I need to know about?

Normally.

I've kept it pretty beenign -- no easy feat.  Maybe we'll see more activity in the new year.

I'm getting ready to start my work week.  The temperature will drop and we'll have a very cold and very dry Christmas.

Every year I feel that it kicks in at the last minute.  Still waiting.
