@aprilskies

Well, once again we walk similar paths.  Although I'm not dealing with a job or all the material stuff that you are.  Which is most likely why you feel the way you do and are having a hard time with your own diet and consumption.  (I wonder what my excuse is?🤨☺️)

I didn't have to deal with all my parents possessions since there was very little left when they were both gone.  They had downsized many years before with my mother saying she didn't want to leave all that for us kids to have to deal with.

For me when dealing with OPS (Other People's Stuff), I found it went in stages.  First, there were things I obviously and immediately didn't want or need that could be gotten rid of.  That was the easiest part.

The rest took time.  A second stage of things went to various places as I saw that I didn't want them.  After that, it just took time.  I wasn't ready to go through and make decisions all at once.  One or two things went, then it might be months before I parted with something else.

I also put some things in other rooms (if you have the space) just to get them out of my sight and living space so I could revisit them as I chose.  That helped me emotionally to reduce the stress.

It's tough job, and I think all of us deal with it in our own way.  A lot of it just requires time.  You've gone through all the emotions and stress of their last days and this is just another stage of that grieving process.

You can do it.  Just be kind to yourself.  Take care of yourself first now, the stuff can sit there and wait.

For myself, I find every day the idea of simplicity making itself more important.  Especially after just spending a couple of hours dealing with another gadget I promised myself I wasn't going to buy.  I was right--it was more trouble than it was worth.

Good to hear from you!  Have a restful Labor Day (sounds like an oxymoron).❤️

Re: The Bee Hive -- September 2024 Edition

@viva923  Hugs to you.Heart

I was *sabotaged* at my last ladies' card game a month ago.  It was at another woman's house.  But not enough people showed up so we ended up just talking.

The worst two topics came up eventually, first it was tinged with politics, then religion.

I kept my mouth shut (literally had to bite my tongue) as I was raised to NEVER be disrespectful when invited to anyone's home.

And on rare occassion, didn't argue when anyone (cough inlaws cough) would talk trash in my own home, I'd walk away.  Don't have to worry about that any more.

I was raised as you were.  And I realize others are targeted for their religion/religious beliefs, but it seems like I've been a target here, there and everywhere.

Over the phone (lol), I'd argue my point of view.  Loudly.  You have every reason and every right to.  I think you can block her number from calling you.  I definitely wouldn't change my phone number.  Phone numbers are tied to so many things now, like grocery store rewards/gas rewards/even at the pharmacy.

Hold your ground sister.  Or block her.
