If you are <clink> Cheers!

We got the yard done, looks so nice.  Supposed to rain tomorrow at some point and I think on Sunday, too.

Very mild here.  I walked the beach with a neighbor later this afternoon, caught low tide.  Water is still warm.  Surfers are happy.  There was a wedding on the beach at dusk.  Found a nice hunk of driftwood to use as a doorstop.

Funny thing, I kept wanting to say to my neighbor 'I can't believe they're closing down the boards'.  !!!  She would have no idea what I was talking about.

I don't mistrust Q.  At all.  And I'm a *leary* kind of person, believe me!

@Lucky Charm

Sounds like a perfect day.  And a free doorstop, too! Heart

Funny about wanting to complain to your neighbor about the forums.  I can't talk about this to anyone outside the forums except BH.

Waiting for the balloons this morning...

I can't either.  I will occasionally speak to a friend about such and such happening somewhere in the country, and she'll inquire as to how I know that.  And I'll just kind of vaguely say that I belong to an online forum group and I heard it there.

I've never admitted it was tied to a TV shopping channel.🤗

Re: The Bee Hive -- October 2021 Edition

Mass ascension is a big question mark this morning.  It's a bit breezy right now.

This will be our last warm day.  Warm as in the 70s.  Temperature drops tomorrow with rain on Tuesday.

A hopeful sign:

For all you 'Star Wars' fans--- pictures of the new Yoda hot air Balloon !, page 1

Airabelle has inflated...

Or not.

The wind is blowing towards the Sandias, so the balloons will inflate but they won't be flying today.

That's funny about not admitting it's a shopping channel.

I only talk to my husband about things I read on here.  I still call it Beauty Banter--from back in the day when that's what the Beauty forum was called.  Used to post there all the time.

But when I reference something here to someone else, I'll just say 'I read somewhere online....'

Holy Cow!

Oh I hope it goes on today.

How much do these cost?  Are they privately owned or corporate owned or both?

@Lucky Charm

Nope -- just a static display today.  Most of the balloons have already deflated.

As for who owns them, both.

Price depends on size and design.  I'd say $25K to $100K+.  Used balloons may be more affordable.

When BH and I moved out here we had a coworker who was a balloonist so we were invited to be part of the chase crew.

Now that was fun. Woman LOL

Well, all I have to say is if the Mods wanted us to stop arguing about COVID and masks, they certainly found an ingenious way to do it.

Now we can just argue about the forums coming and going.

Re: The Bee Hive -- October 2021 Edition

In keeping with the angry theme here, I thought I'd take a moment to share my disappointment with a company I'd grown fond of: Vitacost.

I switched to Alba Botanica products (body wash, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner) and had been buying the products from Vitacost because they had the absolute best prices.

I also discovered I liked their brand of peanut butter.  A little more salt than I'd prefer, but tasty nonetheless.

I also ordered my Dr. Bronner's anise toothpaste from them.  Which has been out of stock for some time.  I did order several jars of peanut butter and they sent me six jars that were close to the best by date of September.

And the Alba Botanica products?  The prices have skyrocketed.  What was 10 or 11 bucks is now 15 or 16.

To be fair, I know this is not just a Vitacost problem.  But if this trend continues (and it will) I'll be looking at even more changes in 2022.

The timing on this is poor.
