One interesting thing about this area: there are lots of honor system little farm stands and even a gorgeous quality bakery stand. Cash or Venmo. It’s not staffed so it’s honor system to pay. The bakery stand is this pretty little pink house in the hills.

There are also many little free library book stands as well as food stands in town.

The downtown is mainly independent shops, cafes etc and quite a few have donation boxes for food and clothing. You are welcome to drop off or take what you need.

That sounds really neat.  Kind of different from where you were, eh?

We used to have the little farm stands, but not so much anymore.  People just don't have the gardens like they used to.  The older people that had them have all passed on.  There is one that also uses the honor system that I often pass by, but that's it.  And there's a church in town that has one of the little boxes with personal care items, etc. that are free to anyone that needs them.

Unfortunately most people around here would simply take advantage of anything like that.  Not much 'honor'.😔
