Re: The Bee Hive -- July 2023 Edition

One thing about cats. Every time you go to sit at the desk and do some work, they insist on laying on top of your papers and your laptop.

I LOVE 🙄 the arguments on age differences between couples or that women are trash if they don’t dress a certain way based on age.

“Act your age.” What the heck does that mean?

Mine are usually trying to steal my meal.  I've got one that could stand to lose a pound or two so I've been rationing their food and he's starving to death.

Skincare, yes.

Makeup, if never used very much. I’ve never used mascara because I rub my eyes too much. Fortunately, I still have pretty good lashes and eyebrows. Dark.

I also don’t know wear dresses and never have. Or high heels. I did sometimes wear wedges with my ultra tight jeans in high school. 🤣

I don't wear jeans anymore either.  I always thought they uncomfortable and I never wore them skin tight.

We weren't allowed to wear pants when I went to school.  And the boys couldn't wear jeans.

Flats are my friends.  I admire the women who can wear mile-high heels.  Heels and pantyhose do wonders for legs.  (Heels and feet?  Not so good.)

But I walk like a flamingo in heels so I avoid them.

Pants just make more sense to me.  When I was a kid, girls were not allowed to wear them in school.

Winters in Chicago were grim.  I learned to wear heavy stockings.

Like I said previously, I'm old.  I look old, heck, I feel old.  My hair is partially gray and I have wrinkles.

As long as I am clean and neat--which is getting to be harder to accomplish--that's all I care about at this point.

I've never been "fashionable", I sure am not about to try and start now.  Besides when I was young and tried, I looked ridiculous.

I finally am to the point in my life that I can accept who I am and what I look like.

I wish it didn't take so long.  Wouldn't it be great if it happened prior to puberty?

I was an Art minor.

My instructors asked me why my sketchbooks were always full of cat drawings.

Clearly, they didn't own cats.

I think that constantly.

But I probably would have ended up in jail.  Or dead broke.

I wouldn't be sitting here, that's for sure.

Re: The Bee Hive -- July 2023 Edition

I’m not willing to go grey yet. I have long hair and I have no plans to cut it short anytime soon. Too many bad memories from childhood. I don’t think I could handle the grow out to grey with long hair.

I went back to short in nursing school because we had the most draconian hair policies and no way could I put it up in a bun. I had to cut it super short, above the collar. More short hair trauma. 😭 I even LOOK better with longer hair.

I was trapped in denim for decades.  Jeans, skirts, jackets, shirts, trench coat, purses, shoes, caps, hats...

Now that I've weaned myself off the stuff, I feel so much better.
