Whoa! The hottest day so far here...100 degress with very dangerous air quality. Global warming?
My son and family are on their way to Seattle to stay with DD for 10 days. They purchased a boat for the lakes nearby and in this heat, a good thing to go swimming, etc. DH is out of town for several days meeting with clients, so poor Shanus is on my own....YAY! I'm planning to do some painting in my studio, make an eggplant dish for dinner (DH won't ever eat eggplant), mani/pedi, clean the house and get the laundry done.
August 2nd is our anniversary...54 years together!!! DH's birthday was yesterday and mine on the 20th. We're a week apart, but also he's 4 yrs. older. I made him his favorite coconut layer cake.
With all 3 occassions together, a lot of dinners out. We're plannning to celebrate at a famous steakhouse about 1/2 hr. away. I ate there growing up when family came to visit from NY or FL. They also have really huge lobster tails, but will stay with a big steak. They have an open grill where you can watch your steaks being cooked. The meals include huge salads in wooden bowls, homemade dressings, stuffed baked potatoes, fantastic bread (uh huh!) and if celebrating, a complimentary pound cake with strawberries and whipped cream. We're usually stuffed and take that "to go".
Wishing everyone a relaxing and cool weekend (with A/C and or fans). Stay safe if traveling.
Prayers to those less forturnate and anyone suffering with a loss.

The heat and humidity here is absolutely oppressive. I was drenched just going to the grocery store yesterday.

Shabbat Shalom & happy weekend ahead! If only the temps would cool down. This weather is getting too oppressive. Please check in on those who might not be able to deal on their own with this weather and also give extra attention to pets. Nothing special planned this weekend. Stay cool & enjoy your weekend!
