@sarahpanda @From all reports I have seen they say sick or infected persons should not prepare food. With this virus some are sick before they know it and others aren't that sick at all.

What I prepare for myself is safer for me than take-out - that was true before the virus and will be true once we get it under control. It's not that I don't love to eat delicious and interesting food someone else has prepared - I just know I don't make my choices of foods or portion sizes nearly as well out or take-out as I do when I'm the "chef."
Maybe if I lived somewhere there were almost no cases of the virus, almost no flu; maybe if I were 38 instead of 78, maybe if I weren't already monitoring a partially blocked carotid, I'd take more chances. As things are, that's not happening.

DH and I use take out service all the time.
Sonic is becoming a fast “favorite” — eating in the car and watching the cars go by.

My thoughts? If everyone looks at this with this type of view, what is safe? I am not one that lives by "what if's/might be's" and so on. I use my own judgement based on trying to get the best info possible, and carry on with my life.
My belief is every individual has to make the best decision they can for themselves. As far as "take out"? I am guessing you are talking about "food and mail". I get my mail/wash my hands and then a little sanitizer.

I live in NYC and order delivery almost every day. Before and now. I freaked out when restaurants started closing. All sit down restaurants or restaurants with bars are closed. (They could have stayed open with delivery and take out but chose not to, which makes sense) Even Starbucks and many other similar places are closed. But my trusty regular places are still delivering.
Here in NY, food preparation is heavily regulated and is very safe. No restaurant wants to be the restaurant that gave you coronavirus. Credit cards are recommended so you don't exchange money, but some of my favorite places prefer cash, and I like to accommodate my restaurants.
So I feel it is safe for me. If you are nervous throw out the outsidee packaging, wipe down the containers with sanitizing wipes that I don't have, and throw out the plastic utensils (which I don't do either.)
What is the restaurant regulation like where you live?

I eat take out 2 or 3 times a week. I will continue to do so. The restaurant owners and employees are suffering enough through loss of income. These people are our neighbors, relatives and friends; we all need to help each other. Take all the precautions recommended by the CDC, but just remember, we can't hide from the will of G-d. Whatever happens is supposed to happen. We can't live our lives in fear and isolation. More people will die from that than from any virus.
