Hugs for my sweet friend, Tissyanne,
I just came on and saw your a.m posting. NEW POST from some of former<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<!!
Your entire life has been turned on a dime, and until someone goes through what you are dealing with..AIN'T no body gonna to understand..family or friends. Not many could do as well as you are doing, now.
I believe it was Lulutoby who had mentioned a few days ago that you have to take care of 'self' before you are strong enough for anyone else, especially your mother and loved ones; I know how much you love and are devoted to her.
That would be me and I have been in a situation similar to you, with my dad.
My prayers are strong and continuous, but we do have to have a personal intervention with a real person of medical understanding many times. Action is needed when we think we can do it all.
Will you know more after this next week? And, how is 'MOM' doing at this time? Hugs for her with love.
@ * @lulutoby, are you here today? Thank you. NAES
@NAES1, Good Saturday to you dear friend. I am doing okay, and last evening my son and I had a very enjoyable dinner at Red Lobster. We had endless shrimp, and wow it was good. Coconut shrimp with pina colada sauce, shrimp scampi, mediterranean shrimp, salad, the famous garlic biscuits, and just the whole atmosphere was good. We went at 5:30 and when we left there were quite a few people waiting for tables. The endless shrimp is our favorite promotion that they offer. Our waiter was excellent, and when we left both of us were plenty full of shrimp.

My Mom is feeling pretty well. She has been altering some new pants for the fall. She enjoys sewing, and she has always made a lot of her own clothes. When I was growing up, she made all my dresses.
Little girls all wore dresses to school during the 60's. Sometimes she made her and I dresses from the same material.
We won't see the oncologist for two months. He seemed satisfied with her blood tests, and she is tolerating the oral medication very well. When we go back they will do a bone scan, and repeat blood testing.
One of my long time friends lost her 72 year old husband to spindle cell carcinoma about 3 weeks ago. The doctors missed diagnosing him, even though he had been to several with different problems for months. When they finally discovered the problem, he only lived two weeks.
I want to thank you for all your kind words to me. This is very stressful for certain, but my Mom is coping, and her faith seems to keep her attitude positive. Her feelings about this spill over onto me, so that is a good thing. I never realized how resiliant she is, until the past 3 years without my Daddy. I have seen her endure a major car wreck, a hip replacement, and now this. She still cooks for herself, keeps a very nice home, does her own laundry, buys her groceries etc. I have filled in as necessary, and she and I have become closer through all of this.

I hope you and your beloved husband are enjoying the weekend, and are feeling well.
Until later.
Your lovely mother isa true treasure. And I adore you for your constant being there, THE HUMAN TOUCH and devotion --LOVE DEVOTION~
Tissyanne, 'mom' really appears to me as one faithful strong lady that knows what life is truly meant to be and has given her love throughout her better years to you, much like mine..very much.
I loved reading how she made your clothes. My mom did more in crochet and knitting and how, OH HOW she loved her children. She died unexpectely much younger, and I savor every moment, every word, all of her wisdom, now more as a woman much older.
You had told me (when I was gone) that your best friend's husband died of spindle cell carcinoma. That, too, is rare. Actually, it's a cancer that is not easily diagnosed, a disease that has other symptoms and covers or wraps around organs deep within the body, until (as you explained) too late to treat. Also, there is Not much research being done for this particular "C".
I again, marvel at your mother's stamina, her strength, and love hearing all of the girlhood FUN times you had when you, like me, thought you would have mom and daddy here forever. I thought the world of my parents and told my brother ( our last visit)- we both agree- how down right blessed to have two of God's B E S T.
When I read 'mom' had been through a car accident, and the death of her beloved husband 3 years ago, her recent hip replacement, then now the sudden blow, now, that she battles...it's astonishing to just hear this, but more importantly is your closeness to her every need. If I should ever HAD -HAD a daughter, I would want you. You are just another ~ THE SAME~ as she is and was to your son. Please never forget that.
To have a family member be this devout in loving another, never leaving, being there for her precious presence is exactly how I was for my mom and dad right up to the end. When I say the end, I mean that in my dad's situation; bedridden for 2.5 years.
As I had mentioned, I had a young family when I traveled back home to be with my MOM for my birthday, not -never- to ever imagine she would die 2 weeks after I last had seen her. We did the town! I always wondered what my mom would be like at your mother's age. that will be something I'll never know. Again, how very BLESSED to have her for those younger years.
So, in hindsight, I really can understand your very rare indefinable years growing up that were so -more than- ``the best``.
I know that you are tired from day to day's what is next and the strain you have been under. I do understand. I had that very same strain when my husband at a younger age had a stroke, here again, unexpectely...so fit, so mobile, so active, so healthy. he's is (apparently) doing fine but we really never know when,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I take that in stride because I have no control and may 'be' me the next time. Age has nothing to do with our events in future life episodes or health. That I learned from my patients from so many different age ranges every single day. The one single thing I gave as love was holding my dad's hand every 10 minutes those last 7 days. I would not leave.
My husband is back to work, doing more than most 20 year OLD do, his bruises are healing and the deep air bag laceration is still in need of a bandage /CLEANSINGS / antibiotics and a ANTI-GERM lotion. Large bandages.
I am 85 percent back with a few lower back trigger impingment bouts of (sometimes) pain/ weather has a lot to affect this. The two tears-labral, labrum will never heal and I am not thinking of surgery this close to the holidays- would be out for 3-5 months.
Hope you get to read this soon and I'll be with you later.
HOW ARE YOU DOING FOR SLEEP? AND! EACH NEW DAY?

NATIONAL GRIEF AWARENESS DAY
"When a loved one dies, the void they leave affects everyone differently. On August 30, National Grief Awareness Day recognizes the time it takes to heal from loss doesn’t have a prescribed course and is a reminder closure comes in many forms."
How appropriate that today is National Grief Awareness Day in recognition and honor of the lives lost during Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath of flooding in Texas and Louisiana.
@AnikaBrodie Thank you!
