I guess I somewhat can be superstitious at times. Same as @amyb , my mom and aunts put it in our heads as kids. The biggest one that stuck with me that I still do to this day is always exit the same door you entered by. Don't ask me why, it's just one of those things.

@Malcontent ....YES, and it seems once they (the superstitions) take hold they're very, very hard to shake. SMH 🤪

Growing up in an old-fashioned Italian family, I repeatedly heard all the aforementioned "Don'ts and Do's". They did not take root, thank heaven.
As I look back on the years since I formally retired and went on to start a solo consulting and training business, added several years as an adjunct professor, and then did career focus / career redirection projects for a national out placement firm, I often found my self in strange situations:
. Why couldn't I get out of the house until late afternoon
( Then I crossed paths with someone who needed me )
. How could I get "lost" taking a back road to an office
( Timing: Walked to elevator with someone who asked
such a basic, personal career question of me when
she didn't know my background. Conversation went
on for over an hour and made a lasting impact)
. As a seminar leader why would I use different examples despite covering the same material
( Message delivered: attendee approaches after session and shares her struggle / decision; adult student asks if I knew she was a former nun, wed to former priest, and ACOA...adult child of alcoholics)
It seems my prayer is always being heard: Let me say and do what needs to be said and done.
Synchronicity comes into play for a variety of reasons. Intuition comes into play because we are subconsciously taking in information / signs and responding. I learned early in my career to trust my instincts.

Nope. When I was a kid I stepped on all the cracks in the sidewalk to break my mother's back. Nothing ever happened to her. Talk about disappointed.

That's just silly. Everyone knows that it's white cats that are bad luck. ![]()

I need to get my hair cut but the moon is waning, not waxing, so I can't. ![]()
