Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

Also age and gender can play a part in insurance increases  yearly as well as credit standings.

Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

We got a notice that our homeowners and auto policies were increasing also. We have West Bend. I think this was industry wide pretty much. 🙁

Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

In Oct. my home owners went down 40.00. Car ins. went up 3.00.

My car is a 1997 and I'm elderly and they usually charge more because of that.  Policies stayed the same.

I'm not in the fire area.  My son's went way up and he is thinking of leaving CA. He lives in the fire area, that is why the increase.

I hardly drive, just in town to go grocery shopping.  I just got ahold of state farm and they lowered my premium, by 129.00 every six months.

I was paying 232.00 and they raised it to 285.00

Now it is lowered to 151.83.

I just have liability.  If I am in a car accident, the other person will be taken care of, but not me.  Well they would not take care of my car anyway, its a 1997.  My medical can be taken care of by my health ins.

I'm 87 and my car is a 1997, so that is part of the reason for the higher cost. The other is uninsured motorist.

I could not get my agent, no one is office anymore, so I was so angry, they transfered me to  dept in the State Farm corporation billing. The lady was very nice and said she could lower my bill to what is legal in Cal.

If you don't need all that coverage, call them and see what they can do for you. if your car is newer and you want it repaired, it might not work for you.

@qvcaddition

I've called my agent twice already in the past year to get my premium down and considering how little I drive, it's as low as it's going to get. The only other option was to raise my deductable which I did.

@qvcaddition , they charge more for an older car?  I knew they upped your rate as you got older, but wouldn't expect an older car to affect it since it costs them less to total it if you do wreck it.  I also drive a 1997.

Well I thought mine was as low as it could get,but it's lower now.

The difference and you may not want to do this, is I'm not covered, just the other person in the accident. My car would not be fixed, but they would not repair it even with the full coverage, its too old.

My policy just covers the other person that is hit.

My health ins. would cover my medical. I very rarely drive, just errands in town.

If your car is able to be repaired in an accident, this would not be for you.

Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

I'm with Farmer's Insurance, I'm in Northern California, 200 miles north of San Francisco.

Yesterday I received my renewal for six months, effective March 7th-Sept 7th.

I have less than 25K on my 2019 Honda CRV.

My renewal without increase is $1097.88. I'm fully covered.

I'm also 73 and have no tickets or accidents for over 20 years.
