I fell Friday off my raised patio when I was chasing bijou. I broke right ankle two places , had to crawl up deck steps , called Sarah at work, she's not supposed to pick up but she did and took me to er. I am admitted in hospital waiting, orthopedic Dr didn't come in till this morning since weekend, waiting to hear if need surgery or just to wait till swelling goes down for cast. I will be on here little at first I imagine, just wanted to fill you guys in.

@hullie Oh my gosh.  You took quite a fall.  I can't imagine crawling up the stairs.  Good thing you were able to reach Sarah.  I hope they kept you comfortable all weekend.  I assume Sarah is also able to take care of Bijou.  Keep up posted when you can.  Take care.

Update on Ed's atrial fibrillation (A-Fib):

Ed was diagnosed with A-Fib 15 years ago even though he had no symptoms.  He had numerous tests and was diagnosed A-Fib and prescribed the appropriate medications to control it.

On February 21 Ed had his annual cardiology appointment.  For several years he was on Warfarin and Fleckanide and then two years ago was changed to Eliquis along with Fleckanide.  To our surprise at his recent appointment he was in A-Fib the entire time although he did not know it.  As a result Dr. S. ordered a heart monitor for several days and we received the results of the test on March 9 (before his doctor received them).  Today his cardiologist called when we were out but left a voicemail on the results.  She mentioned several new options to consider for treating it.  Ed will call her on Tuesday to discuss the options and decide on the medication regimen and/or other potential treatment options.

He never knows when he is in A-Fib, does not feel fluttering or heart palpitations, has no shortness of breath or chest pain, does not pass out or feel faint, etc.  Dr. S. said many of her patients with A-Fib tell her the same thing.  She was not surprised he had no obvious symptoms.

So, now it is just one more thing to deal with related to his health issues.  I hope our decision, along with Dr. S. advice, will keep his A-Fib in good control.  Obviously, I worry about this!  Yes, I worry!!!

@AnikaBrodie I haven't been in A-Fib since I had an ablation July, 2023.  I will be very interested to hear what they recommend for Ed.  They thought I was in A-Fib in December but the heart monitor showed no signs of it.  Please keep us posted and both of you take care.
