@Shanus. Did you get safely and efficiently moved yesterday?  I thought about you all day long and wondered if you found a place for everything?  You and dh seemed very organized so I'm guessing all is well with your world.

@Kachina624   That's so sweet that you thought of us. Organized? Well, we thought we were. The movers came early Monday morning and although we had packed boxes and bins and labeled them clearly which room they came from and which room they go to, the movers just piled them up wherever they found space.

We brought both of Molly's crates (not thinking) and only need one that will go in "DH's room" his study....so far no studying going on in there. She'll need to be crated when I leave during the day until I'm sure she's acclimated to the new place AND more importantly can hold her pee until I get back. There'll also be a new sofa and loveseat delivered with a new area rug in several weeks and need to be sure if she gets up there, she stays on her blankie like on the old sofa.

Nope. Boxes not empty, can't find remotes or cables to TVs, printer, etc. They must have thrown them in one of the boxes. they took the bulbs and shades off all the lamps (at least a dozen and only need 4 or 5) and tied up all their cords and anchored them w/ twists ties, so that needs to be done when we find a place. I did find dishes/silverware/glasses boxes and I told DH as we were packing 16 place settings of everything even every day dishes don't fit in a small galley kitchen. I unpacked only 8 of each and left the other big cabinet for pots and pans.

Counter space is limited, too. The mixer went to a good home as well as the big Cuisinart chopper w/ all the bells and whistles. I have a small one for anything I'll be doing here. Coffee maker, mugs, toaster oven and electric can opener are on the so called coffee bar counter/cabinet area. There's a wine frig. underneath (!!) and we cranked it up and put my veggies in there. We had to combine 3 refrigerator freezers into one. Definitely a puzzle.

We made the bed and slept here Monday night. After a hot shower we made our way to the bed, put the ceiling fan on and stepped over boxes to jumped in. Felt so very good after a very long day...95 degrees and I think 100% humidity.

We still have some hanging clothing not brought over...we thought the movers had those wardrobe boxes on the truck, but nope. We put the back seats down and will get them in a few trips today. We're only 2 miles from the former house.

Well, that's the longer than you asked for story of the move. Trying to take our time putting things away, but Molly comes home from the kennel on Sat. and will flip out unless most of the boxes are put away. She likes everything as is and will be confused to say the least.

Thanks again for asking about our BIG DAY!

OH my gosh!!!! Have to say--your photos brought back shivers and a stomach ache from when I moved the 3 times in and out of my house--because a tree fell on the roof causing lots of damage and moved into a rental--then moving back to the house after repairs and then out again after the house sold--- all  from 2018-2021. And DD and I are planning on moving again---at the end of the year--am nearly a puddle of dread. I know--so dramatic-😝but glad you are in the new place--looks pretty nice!!

@Kachina624   DH took the week off and Molly's in the kennel until late Sat. He's doing some unpackingnow and I'm taking a break to catch up on emails and check in here. Ahhh, so nice to sit down.
