Set a record yesterday at Dollar Tree!

We received a coupon for 10% off everything. We planned it and made a long list. The cashier said that was the largest sale she remembers. We bought a lot of detergent, etc.

Thats great! But have you ever seen the lists online of things never to buy from any dollar store?

We bought about 150 items. Saw the lists. DH says the batteries are fine. No complaints about pet food. We buy Awesome detergent. No complaints. As I have said before  our clothes are clean and smell good. We also bring a calculator and do some math as to price. I think to save a few pennies you must take your time.

I am not sure if Dollar Tree gave those out to good customers. We get a lot of stuff there but will not have to go for a while.

Re: Set a record yesterday at Dollar Tree!

I never realized how excellent Dollar Tree could be until a brand new one opened within walking distance of my summer apartment.  It's bigger, super-well organized, and beautifully stocked compared to any others I've been in.

I don't have storage space for 150 of anything, but I often tuck a few dollars in my pocket when I go for my afternoon walk - and I buy just what I'm able to carry with me.  I agree with @Group 5 minus 1that if you truly want to know if you're saving anything, you've got to know prices elsewhere and do the math.  Given the packaging sizes, some of what looks inexpensive really isn't - although sometimes I just want those small quantities and I'm not so concerned about saving 12 cents.

Re: Set a record yesterday at Dollar Tree!

I got the coupon a week ago, it was a bag stuffer.

Gave it to my DD, she buys all her cleaners, deoderants, toothpaste, etc at the Dollar Tree.  It's like buying tax-free.   Our sales tax is 10%, depending where you buy.    City & county taxes can vary but generally 10% total.

She was giddy.

I love to shop the dollar tree. I always check expiration dates on some items I buy but otherwise it's a great store.  You never know what surprise you may happen upon. Glad it is in my neighborhood.

Re: Set a record yesterday at Dollar Tree!

I have seen some you tube videos and there are some SUPER Dollar Trees that are spectaular.

I don't have one that "big" in my area but I can see spenging a lot of money if you need to stock up.

I like to stock up in the winter so if we have bad weather, no problem, I have all I need at home.
