This weekend I've spent a lot of time in the Forums and I've decided that it's time to put my pride aside and ask for help. There are abbreviations used here that I am unfamiliar with and it might help if I knew what they meant rather than speculating. I'm assuming (which could be dangeous) that OP = original poster? What about DH? In baseball it's designated hitter, what about in the Forums? Any other abbreviations that I should be aware of? I know that IMO = in my opinion. Thank you for your help.

OP is original poster, DH is dear husband, DD is dear daughter. Others needed? Search Smart-Words.org for the top fifty abbreviations on the web.

@Snowhite714 @I had to ask the same question as you did about twelve years ago when I started on the forums. There are so many helpful people here who taught me all I know. I remember one lady always ended her posts with HBIC.It was around Christmas and I thought it meant something like have a beautiful Christmas.I would always say and you have a good Christmas too.LOL

You're welcome. I'm 68, have 3 teen grandkids & didn't understand the abbreviations they used...I was too embarrassed to ask them so goggled it.
