I live at the edge of a state park

and every year a beautiful young

female Fox will make her presence

known.

I've been feeding whatever Fox

shows up for the past 18 years.

This year's foxy lady showed up

at the end of March and she is

stunning to behold.

As I have done each year I leave

out a big bowl of dog kibble and a

big bowl of water for the Fox.Each

year I always hope that I'll finally get

to see the kits but no luck.Clearly

she has them well hidden from predators.

@possummink   I am sorry for your loss.  My Mother passed

for a bleeding issue.  She was sitting in a chair in front of the tv in her hospital room, and when the nurse returned, she was slumped over and gone.  She bumped her leg, then blue spots appeared all over, so she was having transfusions every other day.  Actually, if one has to go, it seems a pain free way.  My Uncle, her older brother, passed that way also.  Went to bed for a nap, and passed.

Re the circuits in your home, someone will have to mark them for you, all of ours are marked.  One panel upstairs, and when the kitchen was remodeled, another was installed in the store room under the house for that.  Both panels are marked.

Your new plants are what I have, and you will love the spirea.  I have one that has grown huge, in horrible soil, only gets water if the sprinkler does it while it is watering plants on a lower level than it, always amazed each Spring how floriferous it is.

Over twenty years ago, we planted many Lilacs.  I must have ignored them when DD came along, and/or maybe gophers got some, so I rescued what I could and put them in pots.  Through the years, I have bought quite a few more, four are in the ground.  One that is in the ground was one I rescued about four years ago, looked far gone, but it finally bloomed this year.  Due to the fact that I am going to plant a ceanothus, Summer Lilac in California, which will cover a vast area on a slope, we will dig up that Lilac and pot it in a twenty-five gallon pot, as we have done with the others that were in small pots over the last two Sundays, some that havn't bloomed, and four that have, so hopefully next year.

There was one Lilac on a slope in horrible soil that bloomed every year, and I loved it.  All of a sudden, it stopped and it is almost dead except for a few leaves.  Years ago, I took a sapling of it and potted it, but had decided that it had died.  Yesterday, while potting Lilacs,  I saw a tag that I had dug it up in 2017 from the slope, so was so excited that it survived, and it did bloom this year, so now we will dig out the dead one, would have to, looks ugly.

I have two of the same yellow Lilacs that will go into pots or the ground in my yellow area, and some white, along with more still in the small pots, so will finish that soon before Summer heat arrives though we are already having 80's, horrible to have the heat so early, and it will continue for months.

I discovered Encore azaleas last Fall, and went crazy, bought quite a few this year in various colors and shapes of flowers.  Are you familar with them?  They bloom at least twice a year, sometimes more.

I also have quite a few mini roses, and wanted more in different colors so began looking.  I looked for quite a while and could not find any place with much or they were too expensive. Finally, coincidentally, a plant company which I have used in the past, but not for some time, popped up in my search, and voila, tons and only $12.99 each, but with the hot weather, I am wondering if/when they will ship and survive.

I told myself I would not buy more roses, large, but have bought a few, accidentally because I thought they were mini, how could I think that, lol.  I also said I wouldn't buy plants this year, but aside from the azaleas, I bought some phlox, waiting for notice of shipping.  I havn't bought daylilies this year which is a huge pat on my back, lol.  I also bought some tuberous begonias and they are in pots leafing out now along with the others that I have had for some years.  So, it seems I have bought plants this year, I am hopeless.

I will be posting pictures of my blooming scented geraniums, looking better than ever, will @ you when they are posted.

My hostas are looking beautiful, big and lush.  I picked up two small empty pots the other day and my fingers touched something, sure enough a big, fat, juicy slug, tossed the pot into the shrub with an eeek, lol

The white small flowered alliums I potted last Fall are finally blooming, love them, and though all of the fat leaves of the tall alliums came up, only one bloomed, too crowded I suppose, so will get those in the ground later this year.

We will be soaking and digging up some roses to move to another area next Sunday, as we did yesterday, poor DH, but we take several breaks to cool down and hydrate.  At one point, I said to him, "let's go in, we are too old for such heat," lol, so we took a break.  I had to force him to drink lots of water throughout, as he doesn't and I can tell by his voice when he is dehydrated.

At 5:00, he yelled to send out the dogs, I said no, then realized he was taking a nap in the dog patch on the chaise he put there, and the dogs love to be on it with him.  I have to be careful with them during the heat as they overheat quickly, so usually let them out after the sun goes down so they can enjoy some fresh air every day.

Do you think your heater could be out of oil?  I'm glad you didn't mess with the electric stuff.  Safty first.  Just bundle up and get cozy.  A heated throw would be a good gift for you.

Re: SWINGING INTO SPRING 🐰🐝🌻🌷

@possummink   I'm so sorry you lost your best friend!
My Aunt had an aneurysm at age 50 and was on life support before she passed. So fast and sad!

If you look at your breakers and one is flipped over it could be the one for the furnace. Just flip it back over like the others.  I bet you are freezing!

I had the air conditioning on yesterday even though it didn't come on and forgot to switch back to heat today. It's 56 now and will be 50 tonight and 72 tomorrow. I can't open windows due to allergies so switch back and forth.
My son gets his second Moderna vaccine tomorrow and dreads it, He didn't feel good for a day after the first. I told him he will be fine! Then his hot water heater is out so he's been showering here. Repairman comes tomorrow. Then his cable is out. When it raindps it pours!

They approved the Pfizer for 12-15 year olds so my granddaughter can get one. I've been texting her mother about where to get it. I'll be able to see her without masks inside and go to family dinners, etc,

I'm glad you had a nice day Sunday and got some flowers for your yard. My old yard man cut my butterfly Bush down also. I think because it looses leaves and looks dead. I would like a dwarf one, but new yard men would cut it!

I know you're tired from grass cutting, it's so kind of you to do your neighbors. Take care!

@Puddles

You have a beautiful soul and my day will be less without you. I wish you so much happiness with building your home on the lot by your brothers. It sounds like a wonderful area.

I have been exhausted the last couple of days but did get to Sarah's graduation and stopped by her party after for a brief celebration with her. My youngest brother from the Lincoln area came down too and it was so nice visiting with him as he is a busy guy....last sibling still in the work force as we are all getting old.

Puddles, you will be so missed. Best of health and happiness to you. 💗Sharon

Re: SWINGING INTO SPRING 🐰🐝🌻🌷

@possummink

My sympathy on the loss of your friend Cherie. Please don't overdue it yourself with your tractor chores! The grass has been growing fast with all the cool weather here too. Tomorrow is supposed to be even colder here in my part of Nebraska. I have debated about turning my heat back on in the house but turned on my electric blanket in bed instead, might change my mind tomorrow.  I have not been plant shopping yet at our nurseries, I need warm sunny weather to get me in the mood. Hope there will be some good stuff left when I do go looking.

Today to warm the house up I did some cooking in the kitchen. Made a roasted chicken in the oven with a side of sautéed green beans and onions and fried potatoes and onions. The house really smells like onions now and I am stuffed. Did two loads of laundry and got caught up reading posts here today.

Lovely thoughts from everyone on our @Puddles  which I echo wholeheartedly. She is truly our soul.
