Meanwhile, regarding your serious question, yes, I would put "oftentimes" in quotes, as follows:

I like these!  "...I thought it could go either way.  M-W has it as one word...?"   "I thought it could go either way, but M-W has it as one word, and M-W is the final arbiter, yes?"

The only thing I would check out is the use of the ellipsis. I think AP Style treats it as one word: (space, three dots, space). I haven't read all of this because it's Mother's Day, and it's almost time for dinner! I'm not cooking tonight ... yay!
