How awesome and inspiring you are! If I ever fear the unknown, I will be thinking of you and your courage to follow your dreams at any age. Moving to another state is one thing, to another Country is a cultural change as well. I have never been, but would love to travel overseas myself. How exciting and liberating to unload things you don't need at the same time.

@Alsace Gal - You are to be admired for how you are proceeding with this major life decision! I know others who have done something similar (Italy for one friend), but have never had such an organized move!

France is so beautiful. Although I never went to the Alsace region, I enjoyed every other region I saw and the semester I spent in Grenoble.

I'm glad you're going to continue to post here, and I look forward to reading about your adventures. Once you're settled I'm sure you will open your heart to another pup who needs a home when the time is right.  Smiley Happy

@Alsace Gal  Wishing you and your baby a happy and rejuvinating move.  I hope you make a few good friends there.   You only need a few.   Be happy,  embrace your new home,   and let us know how you are doing.

I moved to Hong Kong in the 80s when I was 27.  People thought I was crazy,  but it was fabulous.  I had experiences that I never would have known by reading or films.  It turned out we were only there a few years,  but it was wonderful.

I wish you a smooth transition.  There may be some bumps in the road,  but keep moving forward as best you can.  Sending hugs.

I teared up reading this @Alsace Gal

You are so courageous! I laud your spirit to start a new and adventurous chapter in your life. As you seem so kind and compassionate I've no doubt your new country and neighbors will tightly embrace you.

I wish you and Mr. Reilley nothing but the utmost happiness.

You are such a treasure. I've enjoyed all of your postings and will miss you.

May God bless and watch over you. Heart

@Alsace Gal  I admire you. I wish u peace, happiness and health in ur new home. I also have very little family left. My pets are my company and when I lose one I am so heartbroken. The fact that u have done everything to get ready for this big move on ur own tells me you r strong and special. Best of luck.

Thank you so very much.
I still have much to do.

My Reilley, he's old and my prayer every night is I outlive him if even by one day, I can't stand the thought that he would be left alone.

@Alsace Gal  - wow you are definitely a force to be reckoned with! Cleaning out and selling your home and planning an overseas move all on your own is monumental.  You are definitely an inspiration to those of us who are looking for our next chapter and doing it on our own.

Glad that you're almost done with all the hard work and will be settled soon in France. What an adventure! Congratulations and best of luck in this new chapter of your life. Hope every day is full of joy!

@nambee

Thank you! I'm still cleaning out, throwing out and putting "free" signs on items in my driveway! They're always gone by late afternoon.

It's not easy for most of us at this age to move, I promised my dear twin I would continue on with our plans.
