Shabbat Shalom and welcome to our weekly inclusive thread.
What a few weeks this has been!!!! There have been hurricaines, tornadoes, cities and towns ravaged by these storms.... Loss of lives and properties in both NC and nearby states and then Florida on Wednesday... flooding in the streets, homes and businesses. It's just too much for so many people to rebuild. My prayers (and my donated clothing, food and money) went to them during the week. Now another shipment to the residents of Florida.
Yom Kippur, the holiest of days, begins tonite at sundown and finishes sundown tomorrow. It is a solemn holiday when we ask for forgiveness for any sins we've committed during the past year. Tomorrow is fasting day from the dinner meal tonite until the "required" 25 hours ends at sundown to show that we repent. It symbolizes a return to the purity of The Garden of Eden. The service tomorrow remembers family members and those abroad who have passed away. We light a candle at home for each lost family member tonite. Many (like our family) will be following services by streaming it from our Temple. The police presence at Rosh Hashanah was too frightening. Antisemitism is up 200% and demonstrations are in many cities outside of places of worship.
Wishing everyone a peaceful holiday if you observe and a restful weekend.

Good morning all. @Shanus they are now saying that anti semitism has increased closer to 300%. Either way, it's a horrible statistic. My husband said there were armed guards at all entrances/exits and police presence outside of Rosh Hashanah services but he will attend services tomorrow as well.
The world has become an insane place in some way or another. We have to navigate things we would never have thought of decades ago.
Wishing everyone an easy fast, if you choose to, which we do. May the coming year be a healthy and safe one for us all. Please be KIND. We never know what people are dealing with privately. HUGS to all.

@nyc1 OMG, up to 300%? Why are we so divided and not tolerant of each other...different or the same, it doesn't make a difference.
Wishing you a peaceful holiday.

Prayers sent to all who need them in any way.
Hope the weekend brings you joy and peace.
I keep concentrating on the saying..This too shall pass......wishing and praying it happens soon. There is just way too much happening in this world that is negative.
Positive vibes sent to all.
Thank You to @Shanus and to all who post without judgement each week....it truly is refreshing in every way.

@DREAMON There is so much hate and divisiveness in the world today. See our differences, but accept them with love and no judegements.
Have a restful and safe weekend.
