A lot of stores have lots of returns, QVC seems to make money off of returns.

It’s a recipe. There are recipes for success and recipes for struggle or failure. In every aspect of life this is true, more or less. Returns, programming, prices, stock variety and hosts/vendors are likely all in the recipe. Again, this works both ways. Q was successful for decades, until its not. Personally I hope it restructures and succeeds.

@PABoater QVC has always had such a great return policy. One of the very few places you can use a product or wear an item and return in any condition.  I know this has cost the company money. Look at eBay to see how many products are available. These sellers did not pay much for these items as they are on sale for substantially lower prices than offered on QVC.

@spumoni99 Companies never "make" money off returns. "No, companies generally do not make money on returns; they are major profit eroders costing retailers and manufacturers over $100 billion annually. Returns can cost 20–65% of the item’s original price due to shipping, inspection, and restocking."

@cjm61 QVC does have a generous return policy. But I do know many of the vendors pay for returns. I kniw someone who sold a cake pan on QVC, as well as a a Garlic item from our city during 50/50.  The Q offers many plans to vendors sometimes the Q will buy product outright, at significantly lower price, sometimes they are shipped from vendor per order minus shipping and tax, then it's taken care of later. Sometimes they order a certain amount, you ship to them at your cost.  Then they ship left overs back. Costs are absorbed by vendor. The vendor does not make the money people think. They make money by volume and the exposure is priceless!  You need to sell a lot!  Vendors take back defective, unused and returned items in many cases. QVC sells used items to a secondary vendor in some cases.  It hasn't even been until recent years they had coupons or sales. Up until 10 hers ago or so it was almost unheard of, so more loss could be absorbed.

I recently ordered a temptations micro baker set from eBay.  Person on eBay must have had Q returns or cleaning out an estate.  It was packaged exactly like Q temptations orders.  A lot cheaper and no shipping, but says it came from an individual.  Brand new, never opened.

I've purchased numerous Q clothing items from Ebay all unused @lynnie61 .
