I would think that those hosts that are looking to advance their careers, etc would employee a service to monitor the forum for comments.

Hopefully they are intelligent enough not to waste their money on that!

I'm glad they monitor the forums, demonstrated by their removal of some of the more objectionable and unkind personal attacks ( that are against QVC rules) in threads.  They don't get all of them, but their attention to this aspect of social media is beneficial.

@Group 5 minus 1  I've always said that I believe they do. Not just here but also on other social media sites. They want to know how many times their names are being mentioned just like the movie stars.

No.  QVC is looking ahead ten years and this board is all about posters looking back 30 plus years.

@chrystaltree   While I think they do indeed read the forums, I still very much agree with the rest of your statement.

ITA @Oznell!

I think the Social Team members are constantly monitoring here. IDK if they split it according to forum titles or by time segments, but I would bet they're here!

I also think some hosts and vendors read here. Maybe there are rules about commenting, but NO ONE can stop them from reading. If you were a host or vendor wouldn't you want to know what your "fans" are saying about you? I would! If I had a job like this I would really like to know if I could improve and how I could do it !   Smiley Wink

Companies have their own or third party algorhythms that check for prohibited words/phrases, links, etc.

Q has a few moderators monitoring some but they can't possibly read all of them. It's unlikely they are anywhere near high enough to make decisions about products, hosting, systems, etc etc.

People flag posts they think are violations of Q's policy. 99.99% of the flagged ones are just because the reader can't deal with different opinions or think different opinions are being mean.  People need to put on their big boy/girl pants when on forums or any social media.

@CalminHeart ,  I've heard this "big boy/big girl pants" comment here, virtually every time the topic of civility on social media is discussed.

It's irrelevant--   the fact remains, that, QVC does have standards and guidelines for conduct here ( thankfully).  When those guidelines are violated, they have the prerogative to take action-- and they should.

Not only do savage or boorish personal attack reflect very badly on the person doing it, it reflects very badly on the values and practices of the company offering a platform for conversation.  Disagreement, even strong disagreement, yes-- like we are doing here.  But no one should be subjected to verbal abuse, or what amounts to cyber bullying, for just expressing opinions.  Both types of conduct definitely have, and should be sanctioned by QVC.

Yes, posts that are truly savage should be reported. I read the forums every day and I've seen rude and obnoxious posts but not savage posts.

Boorish = poor manners, coarse language.

First, the algorhythm doesn't allow bad words, and even some good ones, so cross out coarse.

Second, does the reader add their own interpretation or read between the lines something that isn't even there?  Or is it just direct and too the point. Or did the reader let some anonymous person get under their skin?

Third, bad manners. If people can't handle bad manners, they have other issues to deal with.

Cyber bulling doesn't happen on these forums.

First, Q's algorhythm is the strictest I've seen. I was in IT and know how algorhythms work. With the forum limitations, true cyber bullying on Q forums doesn't exist.

Second, people may get angry. Big deal, that's life.

Third, too many people think they are correct and everyone else is wrong. This is where big boy/girl pants come in.

A lot of people are rude, obnoxious, demanding, uninformed, right fighters, and lack critical thinking skills. Some are direct and to the point. But it doesn't necessarily equate to bullying or savage, IMO.

They offer a lot of free shipping days and items. That is one of the biggest complaints.

The complaints about hosts are not important. If you are complaining, you are watching. If you watch the chances are good, you’ll buy.

@manny2  My complaints about the host pairings, foolishness and slow shipping resulted in my NOT watching QVC and maybe purchasing only 10% compared to previous yrs.
