I see many times people come here asking for prayers.  So if you have a few moments please I am asking for a prayer for my daughter.  She is in a very bad way and it's been going downhill for the last few months.  On top of all her worries, today she lost her job.  I just hung up with her and for once I feel helpless as to how to help her.  We were crying together on the phone.  All I could do was tell her I love her and if anyone can work it out, she can.  I know not what to do but pray things will get better.  So I thought I would ask you all to send out a small thought or prayer to the universe.  She needs hope.  Some hope to brighten her way.  She doesn't even want to come share Christmas with us.

Thank you.

@Equuleus, I will certainly lift your dear daughter up in prayer. I also pray she changes her mind and joins you for Christmas.

I'm praying that she finds an even better job, and I believe it will happen.

There should always be hope.

I join with the rest of you who are offering prayer for @Equuleus and her daughter.  Mother/daughter bonds are hard to explain and when one hurts, so does the other.  I feel your sadness.  I pray that you and she can be lifted out of this and that joy will fill that spot in your hearts.  I pray that it will work out that you can be together for Christmas and are able to reflect on happier times.  There is always hope and what better season to remember that.

I’ve been in the same place with my daughter. I told her she always has a place here should she need or want it. She never took me up on it but I think the offer became a kind of safety net for her. One of those times was just after 9/11, which she witnessed up close. She quit her job and felt lost but she did come out of it. Just tell your daughter that you have faith in her and that you are there for her. I wish you the best.

Re: Reaching Out

[ Edited ]

@Equuleus, I'm so sorry to hear of your dear daughter's struggles, and especially during the Christmas season.

I'll be praying faithfully that the Lord has much better plans for her and will graciously lead her to them.

Also praying for your strength and direction in comforting her through this crisis. We moms can often feel at such a loss for our adult children’s disappointments in life.

Bless you and your family.
