REMEMBERING THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES FOR US

[ Edited ]

I am so thankful for those who lost their lives for their country today. My husband puts     flags out for them every memorial day weekend. I have noticed that the last few years we see less of our flags out.

While he was only wounded and spent months at Walter Reed....you wouldn't believe the death he witnessed both in Viet Nam and Walter Reed Hospital. These men went through ****** before they died. I'm saying this to remind people to put their flags out as it means more then you would ever know, not only to families who lost a loved one but to those who saw them die. I know, as does my husband, that we pay homage to those who died on memorial day... but for those who lived, it is so important to honor the deaths of buddies who didn't. If you have a flag, please fly it.

I'm in a CT shoreline town....all around here flags fly, town green's surrounded by them, outside Vet places, they have a lawn full of them, we put them all around our condo complex, one by my door, and a few in my deck pots and window boxes. Grateful American.🇺🇸 Tomorrow we'll go to the town center for our traditional small parade & then Memorial Day services on the town green, honoring all those lost vets as well as Gold Star families. Thanks @jubilant ,for reminding us all. IMG_2507.jpeg

Great, great post, @jubilant --  thanks for that, and @amyb ,  lovely visual.

Our flag is up.  It's brand new, as our previous one needed replacing.  Our neighbors are flying theirs too!

I pick up more flags each year to display inside and out. I don't understand when people say "Happy Memorial Day." Happy?

@jubilant - Thank you for your post. Thank you to your husband.
