I don't understand this post.  Rain was predicted days in advance of the parade so everyone knew what to expect.  No one was surprised or disappointed and I noticed that that people were prepared and protected.  Lots of rain ponchos and hats.   It was just rain, it wasn't a blizzard.  And the temperature was on the mild side for this time of the year.   Large crowd of police?   No more than usual for a crowd of that size.

It was?  Oh darn.

Well, they pulled it off beyond my eyes.  I guess maybe the little girl inside me was watching.

I was surprised no performers seem to slide & fall.  All smiles, seems happy, all the way.  And the singing performers, showed up, sang their hearts out.  And I didnt see any lipsinking!

And of course, the Rockettes!  yeah!

I love also when the Rockettes lock arms, when back-to-back, and S-L-O-W-L-Y fall down backwards as a line.  Which I think they dont do outside, just inside their Radio City performance.  Awesome!

I got a glimpse of the Riverdance performers and one of the dancers did slip and fall at the beginning of their performance it was a partial view and she got up real fast and continued with the dance, it was confirmed on a newsfeed of several mishaps due to the rain.  Glad no one was seriously hurt.

@Shanus

I watched it and it was wonderful!  So sad that it had to rain for the whole thing!  I did see a couple of the dancers here and there falling and I'm sure it was very upsetting for them.  But it had to be very slippery for them!  Everybody did so well and it was just so lovely.

Re: RAINING ON MY PARADE

[ Edited ]

Lipsyncing is the norm for 99.95% of performances.

It's virtually impossible for those floats to carry and handle all the equipment necessary for a live performance that would sound LIVE!, particularly if the weather is cold and/or wet.

Some performers are better at it than others.  The art of performing.

It's been done live on rare occasions: Kelly Clarkson pulled it off a few years ago.

@chrystaltree   I knew it might rain, but I do look forward to that parade every year. Not sure why this post confuses you.
