I hope she has great success in kicking her nicotine addiction. You post made me laugh. Years ago I was on a medication that said I could have "vivid dreams". Vivid was not the word for them. More like wild, bizarre movies playing in my head. Not nightmares, just weird and very realistic. Can't remember any specific ones but like your friend, when I woke up I'd wonder where the singing cotton candy elephant was and if made coffee before he left...lol

Good for your friend! I quit 12 yrs ago using the "patch". Had no problem with it at all. Just remind her to change spots every day. Also, I never used the patch when I slept, only during the day.

@chrystaltree Exactly how she describes the experience. You have to live it to tell it well.

Used Nicoderm back when it first came out and had many olf those vivid dreams. I seriously thought I was going nuts sometimes bc I'd have to ask myself - did that really happen or did I just dream it?

@Financialgrl I think she feels the same way....were your dreams as crazy and funny?

I realize my post below references Chantix, which is a pill & not a patch,
but the vivid dreams you mentioned made me post about my friend.
I've written about Chantix before in this forum & this is my
original 2014 post. I hope it helps your friend.

When I read "Chantix", it makes me so, so sad. A friend of a friend of mine died that is Chantix related...I believe it created the legislation for the safer Chantix of today.
Carter Albrecht was a musician here in Dallas in 2009. Trying to quit, he tried something new called "Chantix"...it caused him to act irrationally...enough where a neighbor shot/killed him. This story received national attention. Nicest guy, but the drug cost him his life.
I believe the FDA formulation changed after this happened, but when you said you had vivid dreams, I had to respond in Carter's memory. Here's a WIKI about the incident.

@sidsmom I know it's crazy what drugs can do to our bodies. In this cause my friend is on nicotine patches and nothing more. She doesn't feel depressed or suicidal but she has crazy dreams.

You know what Mark Twain said........ "It's easy to quit....I've quit a million times" !
Ha ha..... that one always stuck with me when thinking of the quitting smoking.

She says that these dreams are so real that she woke up still seeing the worms heaped on her plate.Good news though...she has been smoke free for three weeks.
