**Now** this is what I should do for our front door. Haaaa, I would have company all day long.
Possum, it had been in the 80s last week, then came the rain -UNrelentless downpours, then the winds so powerful that IT had taken out our our 15 year old smaller thin tree, that carried that heavy ivy I loved so much.
Down it came, (as I can see through the window) from the farther side of the back yard, causing my bushes to either be covered from heavy rain, along with winds [ full throttle ], or those just uprooted..
Believe after this cold, (yes now, again) my husband will have to power saw or have some professionals come in and zip and cut to have loads removed. Actually. he doesn't need to be doing more than he is doing now. MEN!
I would have been very upset/ almost sadden, maybe ten years ago, but now it just another episode of life. I was given a twig of that `ivy` from a home many years ago thinking the world of my personal unprofessional landscaping.
Like our families, we are not meant to be here forevvvvvvvvvvvvvr.
Will continue on with the door mural when the cold dampness / rain subsides; pretty darn icky out now.
Some strange weather around this way..........since November.

NAES, Thank you!!
I'm sorry about your "ivy" tree. I don't like it when any of our plants get damaged or worse. They are part of our home and lives, especially if we planted it on our property. It has been strange weather. Here at my son's in Florida, it's so "un-winter" like, but then it's like that every year. You would think I'd get used to it, but I miss the snow and cold weather at home in Missouri. I will be going home the first part of April.
We had tornadoes back home in Missouri last night and one of my son's friends from when they were teenage kids had a lumber yard that was heavily damaged. It's about 30 or so miles from home, out west of St. Louis County. Other places were damaged, but luckily, as far as I know, no lives were lost. Having grown up in Missouri and been around violent weather now and then, makes Spring my least favorite season. I know that makes me a bit weird, but I'm terrified of wind, hail, and ice storms. We had some branches torn out of our White Pine and Black Walnut trees last night. My daughter had the wind, rain and hail.
There were more tornadoes in northern Missouri and I haven't heard much about any damage there. It's in the 60ies there and is supposed to snow on Saturday. Weird weather, indeed.
Here, near Tampa, so many plants are in full bloom, like bougainvillea, azaleas(for weeks), trumpet trees, and our neighbors avocados. Part of that tree hangs over the fence and I hope to get some of those avocados when I come back down here in June and July. Right now I've been picking huge lemons off of their tree, where it hangs over the fence. I put slices of the lemons in with Tonic water for a nice cold drink + a bit of Vitamin C.
Take good care and hugs to Sashay.
And a tummy rub if she permits, ![]()
