@Kachina624  That is funny!  It reminds me of a conversation with my cousin's wife, years ago.

   Back in the 70's my cousin and I both were collecting antiques

and his wife asked what kind of antiques I liked. I told her that I collected Art Nouveau jewelry and decorative pieces.

    I couldn't believe it when she responded, "I like his work".

    I had no reply to that.

@Desertdi - I am a native Chicagoan, spent my first 12 yrs. on the south side, and then we moved.  When I got to high school I was docked points on a speech assignment.  The teacher's critique commented on my Chicago accent.

OOOOOOHHHHH..................igfan.................THIS is my pet peeve.

My husband and I go to our favorite place for dinner.  All the people start coming in too and as SOOn as they sit down out come the goony phones and they just ignore each other.  It just drives me nuts.  I don't even carry mine with me unless I'm alone.  

I love the cartoon you posted.  Got a kick out of it.  By the way to the OP, I'm only five foot one inch.  Yeah, I'm short but hey, guys didn't mind.  In fact when I was in my younger years I got too much attention.  What a drag that was!

Anyway, it's early in the morning so I'm a bit wonky.  My husband works in IT and the company pays for his phone and the service but he does use it for work mostly.  I ORDER him to shut it off in the restaurant.  He does now.  He's trained.  LOL...!!!  

I think this phone thing is really tearing us apart as a species.  We need to be as one....oh well....
