I would go as far as that Cartier bangle that is removed with a screwdriver.  Soldered on?  No way.  Now all I have to do is find someone to give me the Cartier bangle.

I see no upside to it so I'd like to know why the op is even interested in this.

Not even a bull has his nose ring soldered on.

I saw this on TV as a local news story.  So that nobody misunderstands, the jewelry is not soldered on to you, but soldered together around you, usually around your wrist.  They showed how easily you can have a bracelet removed, so it is really not a big deal.  But definitely not for me.  This seems to me like a fad or trend that will eventually fade away.

I have bangles that are slip over and one necklace that fits over my head with no clasp.  This should be fine for some items.

Some bracelet's clasps catch, would actually be nice to convert to a type of bangle.

I have a permanent bracelet.  I haven't needed an MRI or surgery in 7 or 8 years.  If I need either, a jeweler can remove it.  If it's an emergency, it can be cut off.  If it's that dire, my bracelet is the last of my worries.

DD has one.  She's had it going on a year.  Still looks very nice. At some point if she gets tired of it, her DH can just cut it off.   As someone else pointed out, the bracelet is measured to your wrist, you choose the amount of drape you want, and then the bracelet is soldered shut.  So there is no clasp, therefore the term "permanent" bracelet.

Re: Permanent Jewlery

Speaking of "permanent" jewelry, I've often wondered about the bangles that Chef Lidia Bastianich wears on her left arm.

They appear to be too small to slip over her hands, even if she wanted to remove them.

They definitely appear to be "permanently" attached to her. Smiley Tongue

I wouldn't do it just in case I did have to have some type of medical procedure.
