My situation is the same as @sunshine45 .  The money sits in my Pay Pal account until I use it again.

I also have a credit card linked.  I prefer not to have my checking account linked.  So a new purchase will pull it from the Paypal balance first and then attach the remainder to the credit card.

PAYPAL had its name used by scammers last year. I almost got tagged. Charges that weren't mine that they wanted  me to contest the charges to get into my accounts. I believe a foreign based scam set up using their name?

I haven't used PAYPAL in years so suspected it was a scam. Kept sending me emails  several months about bogus charges. For me that was enough to not want to ever use it.

Re: PayPal question

I have had PP for over 20 years, no issues. I have my chk acct and 2 VISA's but rarely use the chk acct. PP is a must for frequent ebay buyers like myself.

I have to agree, anyone you have ever written a check to has had access to your acct. number.

PayPal used to offer the option of having a check mailed to you for acquired money from returns in the "wallet".  That option has stopped and now you can either have it sent to your bank or "keep it in Paypal" but I am confused as to how that works.  I really prefered having a check mailed to me because I really do not want to link my bank account to PayPay.  Guess I don't have many options here that I like!  Thoughts?

@bargainsgirl

So, after reading the feedback you've been given, what are your thoughts now?

I still prefer NOT to involve my bank account.  Have not  made a definite decision yet...
