Among Friends

Another fairly hot/humid day. After the beagles get their doggie flu vaccine, we’re going to the art museum and having lunch at the cafe there.

The next stop is back home to drop off DH & then off in search of a dressy top or outfit for Mom’s 90th Birthday Dinner. I also need some shoes...have fallen into the habit of “comfie only” flats & sneakers. I’d like to find low wedge sandals or a dressier open toe bootie w/ low heel. 

On my list is weekly quick looks inTJ Maxx, Marshall’s and Nord. Rack. 

If lucky, I can be home by 4 for a nap before dinner.

After 2 days of rain and chilly weather here in Chicago, the sun is out and temps in the 70s.  A nice LONG walk is on the top of my list of things to do.

I have a fun filled day planned.  Laundry, giving the dogs a bath, picking apricots to can this week, and cleaning the house.  If I find a few extra hours, doing some more ceiling painting.

I have to stay away from TJMaxx, and Homegoods this weekend (my regular stops it seems), because I spent too much on Mackenzie childs the last few days!

@CAcableGirl2  Sounds like a full day. Love Mackenzie Childs. I painted my dil’s bar stools in that style...turned legs in black/white & slats on back of stools went wild w/ checks/stripes/dots in all bright colors. Really livened up her new kitchen and not expensive to do: masking tape, paint & lots of patience. Now my granddaughters want the lamps in their rooms done, too. I created a monster.

We are getting our 3-1/2 yr old great nephew for an overnighter. He’s busy so it takes both of us. Our plans are to go to Barnes and Noble for a new book and a toy (s). Go out to eat and back home for nap and he’ll play on his iPad.  Tomorrow we plan to go to the Aquarium to see the fishes and turtles. By then we are ready for him to go home even though we love him to pieces.

I might mention he’s not 100% potty trained!!

I need to go grocery shopping this morning, when I get home I will fill up the kiddie pool for my grandkids, grill some chicken breasts to go with our salad, and make home-made strawberry ice-cream. When the little ones are tired of being outside, we'lll come in and watch a movie..fun day :-)

My Saturday: still in my PJ's because I have spent the morning talking on the phone to both DSs. One was on assignment for a month with the Army and the other is helping me with a big project.

Thoroughly cleaned the house yesterday and did laundry and grocery shopping on Thursday, so my Housely Duties are done. Doing a few local errands and gassing up the car after I get dressed in a few.. Hoping the rain holds off so I can get a walk in this afternoon.

Happy birthday to your mother!  My mother turned 90 last year and we had a nice celebration for her.

Today it's rainy but not hot.  I plan to work in my workshop on my Etsy sign orders....I need to get caught up!
