With everything opening up in July, outdoor concerts are starting up.  Garth Brooks has announced he will be in concert at our football stadium in July.  Tickets go on sale next week.  I don't know how the seating will be arranged but it sounds like 40,000 of your closest friends.  Would you go?

Our vaccination rate is around 49%.  But I've heard that singing and shouting spreads the most germs.  And you know how he gets the crowd riled up singing his songs.

I'm real iffy about the situation, even if I am fully vaccinated.

I plan on staying away from any sort of crowds for the foreseeable future.

Yes I would go see Garth.

His concerts are too awesome and fun too miss.

However by July most adults that want to be vaccinated will be.

As long as I don't have to wear a mask I would go.

At some point we need to stop being afraid.

Re: Outdoor Concerts Starting

No big crowds like that for me.

I  "went wild" and had lunch in a restaurant 2 times in the last two weeks for the first time in over a year.  Same restaurant both times.   I got there really early both times and sat in the very back in the "no one puts baby in the corner" table.  Barbeque restaurant so we ordered at the counter (no one was in line when we got there) and they brought it to the table.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Our Red Dirt BBQ Festival is being set up right now down below my office building.  All tickets sell out early for the all day affair and concert at night.  Last year of course canceled.  7,000 tickets were sold.   It is fun to watch them set up the booths ect.. but I never attended in the past and have no wish to do so now.

I would go. It's good that the concert is outside.

Re: Outdoor Concerts Starting

A lot of large events are starting to gear up and go on. Garth is playing Vegas, a concert that has been cancelled 2 times, but this time it is going to happen.

I would not be in that large a crowd right now, even with a mask. Especially a concert.

Bruno Mars is playing MGM (inside) and their theater holds 16,000 people.

I feel like we are going to make the same mistake they made is 1918. Opening wide up too fast, to too large of crowds, in environments where there is no way to stay away from loud drinking party goes and that is not a good idea in my opinion. I know many disagree, but that is my opinion. I will just stay away from what I am not comfortable with.

If you're over a month out from your second shot and outside, you would be safe according to everything.
