Re: Nothing is better than....

I do love fresh sheets too...so comforting!

And I have to agree about hearing a favorite old song that transports you to a place from the past that brings you comfort!

Another thing I love is when I'm sitting on the couch and randomly changing channels when I stumble upon a movie that I love and it's not half over!!  This just happened recently when I came upon "When Harry Met Sally" and it had just started.  This is such a feel good movie and made me laugh out loud!

Cuddling and snuggling with your beloved animal companion on those clean fresh sheets.

......Setting in front of my big picture window (with a hot cup of coffee) looking at the bright red cardinals flying from branch to branch on snow covered trees in the woods behind my house.  Did you ever see one of those Christmas cards that's all white with a red Cardinal on it.....that's exactly what it looks like....so serene and peaceful.

Nothing is better than coming home after a very long day at work and being greeted at the door by my 2 wonderful doggies!

Dogs, of course!

But it looks like that answer's been taken so I have to say that there's nothing better than the feeling you get when you realize there's nothing you have to do -- only what you really want to do.  That's freedom.

Re: Nothing is better than....

I think, right now, my biggest joy is when I go out onto my back deck and call the little bitty birdies for their breakfast.    As soon as they hear my voice they come swarming above my head and in front of my face.

The go onto the hedge behind me, as I fix their breakfast and get them clean water, and they are singing and talking.    They are so sweet that they just make my heart explode.

Sometimes, they will come onto the surface while I'm still there but they are leery.  I always tell them - never trust humans.  Smiley Wink   That said, however, I wish I had some kind of Walt Disney scene with them perching all over me and singing me songs.  Smiley Happy  I'm satisfied with just watching them fill their little tummies and have plenty of water.

Re: Nothing is better than....

@cherry,

No, we are not technically snowed in.   State Road crews have already scraped our road, and several neighbors have been out already.

More snow fell on us last night than Thursday night, so we have about 4" total here.   Areas to the north, and south of us have 5-6+     My husband said it was 6 degrees at 5 a.m. when he got up to put wood on the fire.

I have great northern beans simmering on the stove to make white bean chili, and will make cornbread  to go with it.   Another great pajama day for us.

We are waiting to hear from our trucker daughter who left CO yesterday about 4 p.m. our time, heading for home.    She's been on the road 7 days and is eager to get out of the truck and home to sleep in her bed!

Re: Nothing is better than....

Here's a little girl - one of the 'little bitty birdies' (don't know their real name and it doesn't really matter) who comes here to eat.  In the last year or so there are tons of little girls and boys.

On the top of the hot tub, where I have their food and water stations, I have one snow shovel that lays upside down.   Underneath that, I can put food for only the little bitty birdies so I don't have to worry about the bigger birdies getting more than their share.   They all know to go under there.

So sweet!  Heart
