On a similar note. When my husband was still alive we always had a dash cam and unknown to us or maybe we forgot...all of our conversations were being recorded including a lot of very personal stuff.  Very cringe worthy as I think back on that.

Maybe because QVC does not have members in the millions. It's still a social media site, only on a much smaller scale. Available comments on any google search.

@willowbark,  in regard to your list, which is titled Top 35 Most Popular Social Media Websites should not have QVC on the list as it is a retail shopping site that hosts a forum.  It is not a social media website. 

However, the fact remains that the Q boards are a form of social media, it is open to the public and posts are subject to Internet archiving.

Aside from the foregoing even in a fantasy world QVC's forums would not qualify for the top 35.  It is more likely to be in high thousands in ranking if it ranked at all.

DH pulled the car up to the door of the restaurant we were leaving.  He had his radio station tuned in but when he got close to me (and my phone), it automatically changed to my phone's playlist.

I know @PA Mom-mom.  When we first started experiencing that many years ago, we thought it was a coincidence.  We ruled out visiting websites on the topic and then decided they really were listening.  That's why I tell people to just be aware, it's going to happen no matter how hard you try to prevent it and then decide if you're ok with it (or not ok but accept it).

Alexa isn't the only stand alone AI device out there.  There's Google and Siri plus 3rd party devices.  They all "listen".  Alexa has been caught invading children's privacy and ignoring parents' deletion request.
