Re: Not Too Sure I Like Ordering From Walmart

I'm not sure that 'packing' is in their area of expertise.  I've ordered a couple of times from Walmart (online ordering for regular delivery) and it just felt like somebody grabbed a HUGE box and just started throwing things into it.

In one order I had 12 cans of pumpkin puree, half of which were dented (I said 5 in another post recently but realized I was wrong - it was 6), and three of those were really badly dented.   Everything was just tossed into the box that was well over twice as large as it needed to be.

I have an order out right now and I noticed from the shipping info that it's coming from Sam's Club.  I was surprised by that, as I am not a member (my husband is but he didn't put me on his account).   At least there is nothing breakable in that order, so we'll see.

I give the props in one area, however - it seems like every time I have ordered online the orders have shipped quickly.  Sometimes delays with the shipping partners (IIRC, FedEx each time), but on the end of Walmart no complaints there.  Smiley Happy

I rarely shop at WalMart and I can count on 2 fingers the number of times I've ordered from their website.

Got a couple jackets last week, keeping 1 want to return 2.  To my surprise, I can't return at store.  What a PITA I have to box up and take to a Fed Ex Shipping store.

I know this is a first world problem, but not a problem I will ever take on again. No more WalMart on line shopping for me.

Not returning to the store is quite surprising!

@ECBG   @scatcat   If you can't return it to the store, then it was a third party seller selling the item, not Walmart.  Walmart has lots of third party sellers on their website.  It will say somewhere under the description who it's sold by.

Anything sold by Walmart can be returned to Walmart.

Good to know thanks. One jacket was Avia which I'm 99% sure they sell in store.

@scatcat   I was sure I was right about that, but maybe I wasn't. I apologize.  Here's what I found on their website:

As part of our COVID-19 response, we will temporarily not allow store returns on certain items. For the most up-to-date information, please visit Walmart's Policies and Guidelines website.

Returns are available for nearly everything Walmart sells. Your purchase history on Walmart.com displays the latest eligible date for a return or replacement, however, we recommend keeping track of all manufacturer packaging and your receipt for a minimum of 90 days after purchase.

Items purchased from dealers or resellers and not Walmart or Walmart.com directly are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange.

Re: Not Too Sure I Like Ordering From Walmart

I don't like ordering from Walmart any more.  Too much is shipped by a third vendor, I think it's called "world market."  Been told too many times that if I ordered from a third vendor/world market, that it can be returned to the store.  But it can't  I guess that's why there is a Fed Ex right next to returns in the Walmart store.  They'll print up a label and send me over there.

Re: Not Too Sure I Like Ordering From Walmart

Last year I had a few problems with packing, but complained and boxes were then packed very well, liquid caps sealed after my complaint.  The CS rep said she would contact the fulfillment center where my orders were sent.  Obviously, she did.

However, instead of packing everything in one box, more recently, Walmart has been sending items separately or a few in a box.  I wonder if their fulfillment centers are running out of products, so they search their database for fullfillment centers that have what I ordered.  That might be the reason they are coming separately.

That might change when the influx of orders die down after Covid-19.

Re: Not Too Sure I Like Ordering From Walmart

Some months ago, I ordered online to have some items shipped from Wal Mart.  The arrived poorly packed, dented and some broken.  I did get refunds, but......

Currently, the only Wal Mart ordering I do is store delivery to my home.  I get most of my groceries that way and have had few problems!!  Once in while, I order some item to find out that they ran out of it!!  But over all, I am very satisfied with their service.

Re: Not Too Sure I Like Ordering From Walmart

I placed an order on line to have some items from Walmart shipped to me. I get a email saying since it's in my local store they will deliver it. At 7:15 last night a young lady brought my items to me in their Walmart bags.

Re: Not Too Sure I Like Ordering From Walmart

Well, now I'm ticked!!!

I had 4 days to pick up half of an order, today being the LAST day, and got an email this morning they put it back.  Today was the last day.  I was going when the rain quit.

Humph!!!!

Re: Not Too Sure I Like Ordering From Walmart

My DD does grocery pickup at WM all the time. She has so far had no issues with it, but she is the only one I know who is okay with it. I have not attempted it nor do I have any plans to do it. Last year I ordered a toy I couldn’t find in stock anywhere else, I received the message it was ready for pickup, but had to go all the way to the back of the store and wait for them to locate it. Never again.

I have had problems every time I have ordered from them.
