We drove to a train station yesterday, to pick up my brother for Thanksgiving.

And we were a bit early because you never know how the traffic will be driving there. So we sat in the car for awhile before going into the train station.

I saw a man pull over near the intersection by the train station. He got out of this vehicle and got some items out of the back for the vehicle and walked across the street (out of our view), with his arms filled with items. The  man went back to the vehicle and his young son got out and they both carried items across the street. Then both got back in the car a drove down the street.

I figured out that they were giving meals to people who were around the train station. I should have figured it out sooner because I saw numerous empty boxes with Salvation Army around the train station.

It is such a sad area. There are many once beautiful houses around the train station that are now abandoned.

But what a nice gesture to give meals out to the less fortunate.

Re: Nice Thanksgiving Gesture

There really are still many wonderful people around. Love is actually all around....(wait! Isn't that the song in the movie Love, Actually!) 😃

Equally important is the message the man is giving his son to help others when in need.

@drizzellla :   Did you have a nice time with your brother?

I was the perfect hostess. And both brothers were perfect guests.

I figured nothing good would come about mentioning the coins and any other issues. It would not bring them back and he projects such a high opinion of himself. I felt that nothing would be accomplished.

Brother #1 did give me two gifts. One silver special Australian coin and another railroad car that would go with the train set I had as a kid. The train now sits on a shelf because we don't set up a train layout.

My other brother just got a cochlear implant and is learning to deal with it. Apparently there are adjustments needed to be made with the implants and the human dealing with the implants.

I just thought it wasn't time to blow things up. We had such a good Thanksgiving meal (my husband pulled out the stops and ordered a rotisserie turkey b r e a s t and several tasty sides) and wanted to enjoy their visits.

PS - Brother #1 also thanked  me numerous times " for having my brothers for Thanksgiving".

@drizzellla :  Thank you for the update on your Thanksgiving.  Sounds like a wonderful time for everyone who was there at your house.  I'm glad.
