Re: NOVEMBER 2015 - Back Fence

Hello girls, nothing like 4th quarter when you work in health insurance.  It's the mad dash for customers to get their January changes in.  I've been busy but I'm not complaining, grateful for the job :-)

Another gorgeous day here.  I couldn't help but consider all of the things I could have gotten done outside these past three days.  Guess I'll fit them in when I can.

I go for a new crown on Saturday.  It's on the lower and I don't have an opposing molar on top.  I'm trying to get my dentist to contact a lab that makes partials without the metal.  I refuse to get an implant, so I am making the investment in the lower tooth because one day, when I need dentures, it will be easier to fit the uppers than the lowers :-).

Re: NOVEMBER 2015 - Back Fence

Well, did go out to lunch, then got squeezed in at the dentist, had the bad (we hope) tooth pulled, hope the evening goes well, been a long time since I had an extraction, no problems with the procedure, so I think all will be well, I don't chew on that side so it's a plus, & shouldn't be noticeable when I talk/smile, but I really don't care as long as the ache is gone, think an early bedtime is in the cards & in the morning all will be forgotten, ok I'm being optimistic.

Still having the effects of the novacaine, so when that wears off will be the test

@spix

I'm glad the extraction went well.  Believe me, 'monster tooth' - my old molar that's got to be 75% amalgam filling was on the chopping block for extraction, until I thought about dentures.  I am no phobic about dentures - know too many people who had good luck with them.  I figured I'll fight really hard for my lowers, lol.  The uppers I'll fight for, but will not suffer for, if you get my drift.

Re: NOVEMBER 2015 - Back Fence

Good morning fencers :-)

It seems like it's been a long journey to Friday, but it's here. I'm not sure why I look forward to it - the weekends are even busier. I guess it's nice to not have to rush out at 6:30.

Taking Mom for a hair appointment tomorrow. I finally found a place that caters to her old-school style of cut, set and drying under those old style dryers. When you step into the salon, it's like stepping back into the 1950s. She still fusses about going, always has an excuse, but my brother is coming for a visit, end of next week, and I reminded her that she'd want to look nice.

What kinds of weekend plans do the rest of you have?

Re: NOVEMBER 2015 - Back Fence

Hello all - I awoke to rain and a fierce wind blowing this morning.  My gutters on the garage and family room of the house were semi-plugged so once the rain calmed down, I took the ladder and cleaned out the gutters, lol.  They are first floor so I felt comfortable on the ladder.  All this before work, lol.

I called my friend Ruth today to arrange for me to drop off our company open enrollment information (health insurance).  She and I spoke for nearly an hour and she was having a good day.  Her voice was strong and she wasn't winded.

She told me her doctor cancelled chemo this week because he felt she looked bad.  Instead of next week being her 'rest' week, she's rest this week and they'll tray again next week.  She doesn't like water so it's a battle for her to stay hydrated.  Her son buys that flavored vitamin water so Ruth is trying to do better.

Turns out, the mailman delivered an open enrollment package in the mail.  I didn't know the company did that when you are on sick leave.  Either way, glad Ruth received the information.

All I can say @Bird mama, God Love You for all you accomplish, & also your kindness to Ruth.  I am so grateful to know you & others that do such things to help someone, I've been on the receiving end & could not have made it without those "sisters" who didn't give up on me, & I hope I'm still paying it forward whenever it's needed.

Nothing special planned, has been a busy week, so I'll use one day to catch up on laundry,  & hair coloring, & maybe Sunday will be a neighbor day, we'll probably just do an easy meal & relax

Next week is also busy, O'Hare 2 days, United Airlines is having a welcoming ceremony for the Vets coming in (Veterans Day 11/11) & have asked us for help, then heading for an overniter at an Indian Casino in Milwaukee, hope I don't come back a bag lady  lol

Re: NOVEMBER 2015 - Back Fence

planned to make veg. Soup today, was really having bad back pain so vin made it, bless his heart. Although we did not feel much like eating hot soup today since it was 80 deg. Here.just a beautiful day.

i think everyone took the day off as costco was packed and the traffic was awful.

Sun. Night we go to the concert to hear two guita players. You would not know who they were unless you listen to jazz, but,one of them asked my daughter to play a song with them,on stage. Very excited for her????
