@SeaMaiden....okay. gotcha. I recently had to cancel my cable because I can't afford it anymore, but bought an indoor antenna to get the local channels. Better than nothing. I'm okay with that.

@catwhisperer   I also have an indoor antenna just I case the cable goes out ....it works great!

@Shanus that's not the point; it's the service you expect when you send in your monthly pmt with your hard earned money.  Again, I have had THE worst service from Spectrum in FL and now back in Nebr.  Luckily I have many books and puzzles that occupy my time when good ole Spectrum goes nuts, lol!

@BornToShop   I couldn't agree more. We must have had to replace at least 6 DVRs just in the family room, call and wait days for them to come out, reprogram all the series on there and 3 months later it breaks again. The last fellow who came out said none of the equipment is new. When someone turns in a box or DVR that's on the "fritz", they refurbish it. So you receive someone else's headache. I've become adept at booting...have to do it all the time. We have no other cable services in our area & HOA does not allow a dish. So, we're stuck. Another company is digging up for a new cable system now, but could be years until it's up and running.

@SeaMaiden  I'm not sure if you're if you're being snarky or sympathetic, so no comment.

@SeaMaiden...ITA, along with the ones complaining about not being able to get their hair and nails done. Good grief. Cat Tongue

@catwhisperer   I assume everyone has that level of what's important to them...especially when everything is going to s**t. It's more crucial then to count on what's familiar and miss your routine of hair and nails. I don't have either issue, but think gel nails (?), etc. require upkeep every few weeks or show spaces where they've grown out. Not sure if you can take them off, repair them yourself. When I was coloring my roots, my life revolved around those 3 week appts. I wouldn't want to be seen w/ 1/2" of white glistening roots shining through dark hair. Let's not judge.

@Shanus    oh I am so sorry you took it as snarky... not meant to be that way at all.  I really felt sorry for you and I too would be very upset without my TV and internet... PLEASE forgive me if what I said sounded snarky.  It was meant to be understanding of your situation.

@SeaMaiden   Thanks for explaining. You never know on here or anywhere when it's the written word. Better safe than sorry. Apologies on my part.

@Shanus...no need to scold me. When people are sick and dying, I don't feel it's "crucial" to focus on hair and nails. Just my opinion. My priority is surviving, not what my nails and hair roots look like.

I promise to remind myself every day that I am strong, courageous, and resilient.

@catwhisperer   I was agreeing w/ you that some levels are grooming are not important now in the big scheme of things. Sorry if you misunderstood.

@ShanusLast evening around 5pm our cable went out and my husband looked out the window and down the road a tree fell on the power lines and the lines were in the road sparking and smoking.  Needless to say our cable came from that way and we didn't have cable, internet or landline till early this morning around 5am.  I am a bonifide TV watcher deluxe in the winter, and I was listening to the radio but it just wasn't the same. .
