I have a mouse to use or not. The icons are all different and he has not completely set it up, so my most crucial spell check is not here!
Bear with me. I'm learning. I keep hitting the square in the middle below the keyboard which either moves everything or deletes it. I'm not used to using it as a touch screen yet, so the mouse is it for now. Right click left click.
If you see weird spellings, lack of punctuation, triple spacing, etc., I'm still learning. As most of you know, technology is not one of stong suits.
You know a lot more than I do - as I never learned the computer and have no idea about electronic devices. For the last 4 years, I've been using a keyboard where the keys are flat -- compared to my previous keyboards. I can't feel the keys easily and usually have my hands on the wrong keys. I'm a very fast typist -- and I'm still trying to get used to it.

@Desertdi wrote:@Shanus Have you considered getting a MINI-MOUSE ????? They are only about 2x3 inches, and slide right along the space below your keyboard. I am OLD and just can't use that finger-pad thingie.....and the mini was the answer to my dreams. Around $10. di
That's a good mouse, I kind of prefer a slightly larger one though.
I wouldn't use a laptop without a mouse. I hate the pad below the keyboard and have to use a finger to guide the cursor.
If a mouse was not made, I just wouldn't use a laptop at all.

@Sunshine Kate Now I'm conflicted. I'm using my little red mouse, but planned on learning and getting used to the pad. Will have to see which is the easiest. I'm assuming it's different for each person.

LOL .. learning curves.
I don't think I'm alone when I say many of us are not technology perfectionists. Knowing the basics helps, but software & electronics change often.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll eventually adapt. I'm probably one of the few that doesn't have either an Ipad of Iphone.

@sceniccoast Good morning. Definitely a learning curve. My IPAD was touch screen, so this is really different! My cell phone is blue toothed to my hearing aids, so I can hear perfectly. No one ever calls on the house phone except robo-calls. We never answer it. Everyone who's family and friends (or clients) have our cell numbers. I also use my phone to text...Don't think I could do without that one piece of technology.
Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the holidays.

Happy Thanksgiving to you & your family.
Seems as though you have your Apple electronics perfected. I'm sure you'll do well getting accustomed to your Dell. Again, good luck.
