When I was little, she used to tell me if I didn't stop making faces, my face would freeze that way --- well, I STILL make faces, and my face hasn't frozen!!!!   Woman LOL

Same here. I use to cross my eyes.  They didn't stay that way!

I wonder what I told my kids that they'll be talking about in the future?

lol -  the older I get, the more I find things my mother told me were right -  sometimes just metaphorically, but she was on the right track way too often about some really important things I rejected at the time.

lol! mom told me the same thing too but that never stopped me from making faces! i also enjoyed crossing my eyes and i remember my dad hating that. once, after his stern warning to quit it, i crossed my eyes at my brothers and i got slapped across the face. um, that didn’t do the trick either. 😊

@YorkieonmyPillow My mother told me to stop swearing, being the brat I was I think that encouraged me, now I can cuss like a sailor, and every time I do, I still hear my Mom saying "Girl where did you learn such language, I told her one time, "Dad, wrong answer, LOL!

@YorkieonmyPillow  My mom said the same thing. My face hasn't frozen yet either. In this day and age only with botox would this happen!

We walked home from school.  I tried so hard not to "step on a crack and break my mother's back".  I can't remember who told me that.  Probably some other kid.

She would tell us if we told a lie our tongue turned black.  If we questioned it, she said only mothers could see it!

My mother told me that if I didn't wash my ears, potatoes would grow out of them.

I remember "Step on a crack, you'll break your mother's back"......I was angry at her when I was walking on a sidewalk, and deliberately stepped on the cracks......but nothing happened to her back.
