My Little Free Library

[ Edited ]

Celebrating our one year anniversary this month. Hubby built it for me to match our house. I'm the official steward. It's been a fun hobby! The library is ALWAYS busy, with a steady flow of taking and giving. I literally have hundreds of donated books in the garage, waiting for me to sort and curate.. I love being Suzy the Book Lady.

Deleted personal information on location.

@smoochy  That so cute.  You found a way to do something most people just talk about..."giving back".

I love it.

@smoochy  I'm happy to see other people doing this for their towns. Our town has been doing this for a number of years. After last weeks snowstorm, someone came and dug each little library out so they would still be accessible, snow and all.

Our HOA actually paid for ours and I am the steward.  Unfortunately, we have some jerk in our neighborhood that keeps breaking the glass front.  I don't know why people have to be so awful.

It does get a lot of use and I've even gotten emails from parents of young readers who love using the LFL.  I try to find books at Goodwill to restock us.

Our HOA also has a LFL, as do most HOA's (and now neighborhoods) in our City. They are such an enjoyable part of the community and have not hampered our City Libraries at all. To my knowledge, most LFL's have a regular turnover of books and people often leave new things to read if they keep a book! It's turning into a rotating stock of available books for all ages. Nice that people don't just take them without replacing with another in most instances. Smiley Happy

We have a few in our town and a few in neighboring towns.  I always put them in a different LFL  so there are always different types of books in them.   I have gotten a lot of good books.
