Sorry for your loss.  

My dad was a WWII vet who died at age 86.  I never was informed until years later by accident.  He was not a nice dad - he didn't know how to parent.

@bmorechick  I am so very sorry to hear that your wonderful father passed away.  He sounds like he was such an accomplished, strong and loving man who must have lived such a remarkable and rewarding life of 98 years.  I firmly believe in Heaven and I do believe that the spirit lives on and watches over loved ones.  Please take as much time as you need to feel and experience grief and I hope and pray for continued strength and moments of brightness and warmth as you are going through all of this.

My prayers to you and your family on the loss of your dad.  I'm glad you were with him until the end. Sounds like you have a lot of happy memories to remember him by.

My dad passed in 2019 at the age of 97.  We were all with him as he joined mom and the rest of the family.
