Melissa Rivers Podcast/Joan Rivers Documentary

Just fyi for any of the JR fans out here...

Was listening to Melissa Rivers' "Group Chat" podcast yesterday and she mentioned a Joan Rivers documentary that's currently in the works. I forget when she said it's scheduled to be out, but it's not finished yet.

Her podcast is often good...this was an "update" on her life since she lost her home in the CA fires, and is still "rebuildiing" (ie. bought a new home), fixing it up with new husband. Other than still recovering from the trauma of losing most of her family memorabilla, and home, she is doing ok. Seems like she finally met "her person" and I'm happy for her. She also mentions that she thinks her mom & dad would be proud of her resiliance...she certainly has Joan's genes for that. Her mom would mostly be happy, which she mentions, that she's had someone to go through all this with and depend on.

I still miss not having JR in the world, on Q, and look forward to the documentary.

Re: Melissa Rivers Podcast/Joan Rivers Documentary

I like Joan Rivers line of clothing on the Q

and this weekend, during a Gravel weekend I watched a segment

and she and the host made fun of Joan.  They had mimicked how she would

walk across the set.

I was taken back by that...especially in deference to Joan as she is deceased.

I thought, wherever that comment came from, was a cheap shot.

Melissa and her mother had a very close bond and the documentary will reveal that and perhaps more.  c

Re: Melissa Rivers Podcast/Joan Rivers Documentary

I loved Joan.  I miss her.  And her line of clothing.  Some of the items they feature are definitely not "Joan."  How horrible for hosts to make fun of her.  WOW.

I look forward to that doc.

Sorry to hear about Melissa losing everything.  Probably a lot from her Mom.  That would be so hard.  Glad to hear she's doing well.

@FranandZoe @katie1859 Of course I didn't see the show you referred to where they were teasing about Joan, and it came off negative to you, but I will say...I've heard that teased about before on QVC, as I think it's just an old Joan story, said with a bit of love toward how funny and fun it was when Joan was on. I think at this point it's like old Joan QVC lore they all love to remember and laugh about.

I've seen what they referred to, and even Joan loved poking fun at herself "breaking the Q" rules and walking in front of the camera. I've seen an old Joan video and it was just funny. So, I think it became an inside Q joke that all the hosts like to remember and laugh "with" Joan and her memory over. That's the way I've always heard them refer to it, and each time it was said, not as a criticism, but poking fun, as we all know Joan loved to do with herself! So don't feel too bad.

I realize I didn't hear it this time, but some hosts are just less articulate at these things than others.

I was watching that show and they were definitely NOT being rude about Joan.

Re: Melissa Rivers Podcast/Joan Rivers Documentary

It was more than that comment… it was in conjunction with the demonstration
The host went hunchback and preceded to walk across the camera

I’m not offended but I do think it was in poor judgment

Joke all you want with Joan stories… I agree

But the way walk she walked while on set to me is not necessary
