Some people don't say I love you but they show it by sticking around through thick and thin.

So very true!

I remember getting annoyed when I was young when my Mom would ask me to call her when I got home.

She's gone now and what I wouldn't give to hear that request from her again.

I don't know how my parents put up with me sometimes.

Words are just that, words. True Love ❤ is built on a foundation of actions, not words.

Yes, indeed. Love can be expressed in many ways. We are native New Englanders. My husband's ancestors emigrated from rural Scotland. We are reserved. We just don't throw the love word around the way some people do. It's expressed in the many ways that really matter.

I say "watch for deer". My DIL told me that was the Mi way of saying "i love you".

Of course, the people being raised today in New England don't have to be raised like the people in Scotland were raised.  That would just be "programming", right?  They can be taught to be more open and loving.

Nothing is stopping that from happening.

The words are nice to hear, but if there are no actions to back them up, then they are meaningless.
