Here in New Jersey, the entire state of NJ is under a State of Emergency for heavy rain/flood and wind gusts of 50-70mph.  I sure hope we don't lose power.  This is going to be a bad one!

I had no idea about the State of Emergency.  I should check the messages on the house phone, the town always leaves messages warning of coastal flooding.  I'm going to get my walk in on the beach right now because we've got at least 90 mins before the rain hits.

@Lucky Charm   Yes, the Governor declared this morning that every county in the state was under a State of Emergency.  I'm most concerned about the wind and loss of power.  Luckily, I'm not in an area that floods, but with this much rain you don't have to be in a flood area to get water damage.

I got my 5 miles in, saw about a dozen other people on the beach.

Also saw bulldozers or front loaders at the north end and the south end pushing sand up on the dunes.

Thought about your post saying it was a state of emergency and when I saw a city-owned pickup driving on the beach thought for sure they'd tell us to get off, but they didn't!

They had the 'street closed' signs/blockades where it typically floods, but they weren't in place.  Our street never floods and we have pilings under our house.

I do worry about power going out.  Of course, we have a generator, but, of course, it has something wrong with it.Woman Frustrated
