I will need to call my Embassy tommorow. I am a Greek citizen I will tell them. One bad news after another for me.

The email I received states no passengers coming from US are permitted into Greece

@Dinaki    I'm so sorry to hear this bad news.  You are going to have to come up with a plan of action to get out of your situation, which I just read about this evening.  If the embassy can't help you, you need to contact a shelter.  They have social workers who can help you map a strategy.  You probably will also need to see an attorney to get living expenses out of your husband.  You'll be a lot happier if you can get out of that house and be around people.

I know right now you probably feel lost and hopeless but I think you can get out of your situation without too much stress.  I'm sorry you've experienced such a nightmare while in the US.  Just take a deep breath and know there is a solution and things will soon be better.  I wish I could give you a big hug.  Keep your chin up.

You're not an American tourist. You're a Greek citizen. They will probably admit you but have you remain in quarantine. Call the embassy. Good luck.

I go back and forth to Athens @Kachina624 .

i first step in US in 1986.

i am a a Greek passport holder and I reside in America permantly with a Green Card. I am renewing it every ten  years because it expires . For the renwal I paid last time 500 dollars ( I think) and it takes about three months for the renwal. Not to mention that the paper work is so much , around ten pages. Why you want to stay longer, where you stay, when the last time was that and this..... questions too many

@Dinaki

Please call your embassy and set a plan in motion to leave your husband.  But a word of caution:  Do NOT give him any indication what you are planning to do, or that you are even considering it.  You will have to give an "award-winning worthy" performance with your behavior and actions so as not to arouse suspicion.

Email (or call if your husband isn't around to catch you on the phone) one of the domestic abuse centers that someone has posted for you on another thread, to get started.  They WILL help you get out of your home and away from your husband.

Don't feel guilty, don't feel ashamed, don't feel that you have to be honest with your husband as to what you want to do.  If he knows or suspects he may stop you.

Don't wait until COVID is over.  The help center will be able to help you find a place to stay until you can board a plane back to Greece.

Don't give your husband any reason to be suspicious.  Act normally, and just take your cats with you if it won't arouse suspicion.  It will be hard to leave your pets behind if it becomes necessary, but you must put your welfare first.

Be tough.  Be strong.  You are not required to be a "dutiful wife" to someone who physically abuses you, no matter how old he is.  Don't let him manipulate you.  Give yourself permission to leave him.

@Dinaki  .....  You have a post over on the Shoes Forum under your original thread notifying you that your Embassy is accepting passport holders right now. That if you feel you are in danger and tell them they will send a car to get you and get you on a plane. Also said they are two hours from you. You might want to check that post.

@Dinaki  ...... Is your Green Card expiring now? Your businesses are in Greece right? If you are divorcing your husband would you be coming back to the States?

I hope @Dinaki sees this post.  Perhaps start a new thread ATTN: Dinaki and post this again?
