Re: June 2019 is here for the Back Fence Group -

Yock, fortunately we have never had critters in the chimy or the house. I love animals, but don’t want to live with them, unless it’s a dog,Ha,Ha.

Re: June 2019 is here for the Back Fence Group -

Since it's been 12 days since the last time I mowed the grass I'm glad it's not humid this morning.  It was in the 70's around the 9 o'clock hour and I waited until 10 am (can't remember the noise ordinances around here) to get outside and start mowing.  The front yard didn't grow that much.  I think that's a side effect of losing so much of the maple tree in the front yard.  Not as much shade as before.

I'm rehydrating right now Smiley Happy

The backyard is the complete opposite of the front yard.  I have grass 'o' plenty back there Woman Wink  Then again I have more trees in the yard.  If you look at the yard from the kitchen window you would think, hmm, nice lush lawn.

Once I get about a third of it mowed, if you look at the back yard from the kitchen window you would think, dam*, that grass was long Woman Surprised

Rain is forecast for most of the upcoming week so today has to be the day to get it done.

@Bird mama @Be careful out there Bernie.  That hot air can get you quick.

We

are to be in the high 80s all week.  I always say it will rain on the 5th because of all those firecrackers. My percentage is as good as the weathermans.

My daughter's dog, Maggie, an English lab has been diagnosed with cancer.  ,it is very aggressive.  It started in spleen and is now in her Liver. She is in stage 3. They took her to a surgery specialist in carmal but they were pretty sure they could not get it all off the liver and were not sure she would come out of surgery.

So they brought her back home and she has an appt tomorrow so they can tell them what to look for if she is in distress. With this humid weather I think she will cross the bridge very soon.  Such a sweet dog and the grandkids have all loved on her. She is 12.  We will miss her.   Joe, our grandson just got a LAB and they've been building s fence for her. Natalie heard all the talk about Maggie so Joe took her over for a short visit. Maggie did roll over for a belly rub. I think Natalie will feel better now. They forget little pitchers have big ears and they should have presented it to her differently.

Betty @yock   I made it - the yardwork is done.

The word cancer makes me want to say a slew of bad words.  I've lost many loved ones to that disease be it human, furry or feathered.  I believe my Peewee (first female bird, Poppi's sister) had cloacal cancer.  It's like reproductive cancer in women.  Even though I was freaked out a little when my youngest female Presto decided to start laying eggs (without a mate) last year, I prayed that going 'through this' would prevent her from getting reproductive cancer later on.  You just don't know.

I'm sorry to read about Maggie and I will pray to St. Francis that he comes for her sooner rather than later to spare her from suffering.  My deepest sympathy to the entire family.

Children are smarter than we give them credit for and the news about Maggie should have been presented to Natalie more gently.
